Released in January, Talibans was produced by Ztekk Records and Ej Fya. Its official video has racked up more than 18 million views on YouTube. The 23-year-old artiste, who was born in Jamaica, resides in St Kitts and Nevis. Talibans has been added to hundreds of playlists globally and has become a must-play song at local and international dancehall parties. Byron Messia's credibility as an artiste has skyrocketed after various videos and pictures emerged online with him in studio with the likes of Popcaan, Burna Boy, Bobby Shmurda, and Prince Swanny. He has also collaborated with local artistes such as Govana and Jahshii and says this is only the beginning, as he plans to dominate the global musical space with a melting pot of fresh sounds and thought-provoking topics. "I'm trying to help black people, 'Wake up and understand what is going on," so that they can win at life. Within a year from now I want to win a Grammy, which is ironic because it feels like just yesterday I was on the streets with no money. Now I am living my dream," the artiste told the Jamaica Observer. Byron Messia recently released the album No Love. Vent, Smallest Circle and MOCA are among his recent releases. - Jamaica Observer Top 100 Chart History 2023 33 Talibans -1- 0 x #1 | 0 x Top 5 | 0 x Top 10 | 0 x Top 20 | 1 x Top 40 | 1 x Top 100 Social Media Byron Messia http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png
July 7, 20233 yr Author 36 | 38 | 5th week Burna Boy Sittin' On Top Of The World 1st single from forthcoming studio album Released: 1st June 2023 Label: Atlantic Recording Corporation Chart Statistics NE (15/06/2023) | 52-43-46-38-36 Sales: 40k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 37 Sales 78 Audio Streaming 59 Video Streaming Video Vxnu4MmAF68 Biography Nigerian singer Burna Boy opened his Apple Music Up Next spotlight with a distinction: “Music’s supposed to be a universal language. You understanding what I’m saying is second. The primary thing is, what does the person inside you hear?” It’s a simple but radical thought: You can listen on your terms, but he doesn’t have to meet you halfway. Born in 1991 and raised on the southern coast of Nigeria before moving to London for college, Burna (born Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu) has become one of the most prominent African pop artists of the 21st century, fusing his specific background—a Nigerian man entering adulthood in the United Kingdom—with a global vision that encompasses Afrobeats, dancehall, trap, UK hip-hop and just about everything else that might fit under his diasporic umbrella. The result is an artist who isn’t confined by his identity but doesn’t dilute it either. By the time he received broader recognition through a (conspicuously uncredited) feature on Drake’s 2017 mix, More Life, he was already a star in Africa; 2019’s African Giant, which featured collaborators as disparate as Angélique Kidjo, Skrillex, Damian Marley and Future, brought him into international focus. Yeah, he’s just speaking to his people. But there are more of them all the time. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2017 88 Good Time (J Hus feat. Burna Boy) 2019 06 Location (Dave feat. July 7, 20233 yr not a fan of this from burna boy. shame as i really liked last last, and even the ed one was decent
July 7, 20233 yr Oh yay for 'I'm Still Standing' hanging on and actually getting a play this week! Didn't realise D.O.D was on track for top 40 this week - I also don't like this one as much as 'Still Sleepless' but it's still pretty decent, better than the other songs I've heard from him so the public chose the right 2 to be hits. Also never realised his real name is Dan O'Donnell
