Following on from his massive hit 'Crank That' it's Soulja Boy who got kissed goodbye this time. It was another top 10 hit for the Chicago born DeAndre Cortez Way peaking at 6. He initially had Chris Brown in mind to sing the hook but Chris turned it down so he attempted to sing it himself via Autotune but found it naff so then settled ultimately on rapper Sammie instead who himself is a one hit wonder but even then just as a featured artist.

I'm switching to Mad'house this time round because well the original is such a classic and whilst this isn't bad per say it isn't fab for me either.

I know I shouldn't but I rather enjoy 'Kiss Me Thru the Phone' as a guilty pleasure, certainly a lot better than that other monstrosity of his anyway.

I kind of wish I'd voted for M.O.P. - Cold As Ice now, because it's right down there for me, but I voted for Eminem the other day.

 

The Like a Prayer cover is something of a guilty pleasure. I felt like it was everywhere for a little while in Summer 2002! I was on holiday in Corfu and I heard it in restaurants, taxis, on the street. At that stage I probably heard it more times than Madonna's original :lol: (Bear in mind I was 14 in 2002 and mostly focused on current music, I didn't have Immaculate Collection, so I wasn't exposed to her older music too often). Anyway, good memories attached to Mad'House's version of the song.

 

Also... honestly I prefer Kiss Me Thru The Phone to like half of the songs in this poll :kink:
