Was inevitable but definitely felt the natural top 2, as far as hype and discussion for last year went. And it was quite close for the most part!

 

Sorry to everyone for this taking so long, I really do just spend my evenings working or seeing my boyfriend on my days off. But this is done before my holiday now, thankfully! Well done Kath <3

Well, I guess we could've all seen that coming, I admit I wasn't sure whether I should vote BOTA as I don't associate it with BJSC at all anymore but I just couldn't snub it given it was such a summer anthem for me, just needed a bit of time to grow (this is a good example of me DNQing and not caring and giving songs the time they needed :kink:). But hey, it's a great song and deserved winner, congrats to Kath!

 

Happy New Year was similar in that it didn't fully click until after the contest when I got more into their material, but I did at least point this at the time so great to see it top 3. Parmi Les Mortels remains one of my favourite discoveries of last year so pleased that's done so well for songs still largely associated with the contest anyway! I voted for all of that top 7 so not much to complain about there.

 

Pleased Thomas Bergersen at least managed mid-table, I haven't had songs in the TBO final in so long so just happy to be here. Oops at Autopsy though, I guess it was a while ago but where did all the fans go? :'(

Oh 15th is better than expected for 'Thunder'. 'Choreograph' is too low imo.

 

Expected winner there :lol: still a great tune. Well done Kath and liked the presentation Rob as well.

Congrats Kath! Completely fair and great top two, a song that went on to become a huge hit that was cruelly denied in its original contest, and then a standout winner.

 

Happy enough with my showing, Choreograph is in some very good company in that bottom ten, Shot a friend did about as well as I’d have expected without many pop voters and Bicstan did really well.

Of course you do, and so do I. I don't do anywhere near as well in TBO as I do in the main contest, because the songs that do do well are the ones that inspire lots of 18s and really really stand out. Our entries tend to do quite well in the main contest because we get a solid amount of 7s, 8s etc that push us through. Also, the voter base in TBO is never as pop leaning.

 

I don't really take it as "not deserving though", there's 28 voters here and 60 odd voters in the main contest so things are bound to change.

Sorry for not commenting in here during the results, I totally missed that this was happening until it was partway through so just decided to wait until it finished to catch up (oop this happened last year as well, I'll catch a TBO final again one of these days - hopefully not in October next year etc.)

 

Fair enough at Eliza Rose winning, I suppose it does at least feel a little more deserved than when 'You Don't Own Me' won a while back as this song has always been undeniably a massive favourite on here and it was surprising it didn't win its original contest - I still don't think it's quite as good as its reputation here suggests but it do be a bop ~ (I actually heard Eliza's flop follow-up 'Better Love' in Wagamama earlier this evening lmao so that manifesting ha victory tbh)

 

The rest of the top 5 there is fantastic however <3 and wow at D'yermak'er getting 2 of the top 10 with 'Sinner' beating its position from the original contest by a few places! + quite interesting to see Leony doing better than Madison Rose here, much has been said about the silent pop fans not showing up as much in TBO but you'd think if they would for anything it would be 'Thunder' :thinking: (although 15th is not bad for that anyway ofc x).

 

Noice at Nur & Luca nabbing a top half finish, thank you muchly to Leww & uhsting for the gold and silver <3 + Jade, Kath, Travis, Doctor B, Ansel, Pete, Cody, Iz and Cow for the other points! (Hope that's everyone x). Also very nice clean graphics from R Rob as per usual x

Kathaldazia finally getting the victory they deserved for 2022! Huge congratulations and a very respectable runner up too with Aeroche deservedly so! Despite not being in this strong selection I am very happy with the result and the quality on display is excellent!

thanks for running TBO again ~ pleased to see Danæviia top 20 in such a competitive final and the predictable yet deserving win for Kathaldazia to make up for the song missing out on an original contest win

First year since 2018 that the winner of TBO didn't win its original contest? (that time being Moby - This Wild Darkness)

 

Congrats to Kath, would have much preferred Overmono winning though instead! Can't be too disappointed in parmis les mortels (aka the greatest BJSC song of all time) finishing in a very respectable second. Not massively fussed about the rest of the top 10 bar Orihime and Sinner.

 

Nice just squeaking by the narrowest of margins into the top half of the results. Pills & Good Advice deserved to be there as well and whoops at Show Me Love, certainly did not deserve last place.
