August 30, 20232 yr I’m also here for Olivia getting another #1. Really hope that the recent #1s due to physical singles makes more artists decide to push them especially the female pop stars as they really do have the fanbase for them (hopefully team Gaga do this for her next era or for artists currently in cycles maybe Mileys team could push for Used To Be Young once that takes off fully). Wonder if The Weeknd will be at #2 *again* on the albums as well  Edited August 30, 20232 yr by Jord
August 30, 20232 yr Completely agree and I also much prefer Olivia’s song. Building up sales and dumping them in the week when it’s most advantageous really bothers me. I don’t think the OCC were tackling the correct problem in banning signed singles. Have signed singles been banned now?

August 30, 20232 yr Have signed singles been banned now? Yup signed ones have. Looks like it hadnt done much tho as lots of unsigned ones are still selling! Looks like it’ll be 3 #1s in a row who get there with physical support!
August 30, 20232 yr Hope Olivia’s physicals push through this week, and then doja should get it the week after! This fast #1 turnover is so refreshing to see!
August 30, 20232 yr Author Everything Everything's Man Alive reissue was #56 in the Tuesday mids then :cheer: nice surprise to see Spanish Love Songs sneaking in at #91 too
August 30, 20232 yr I'm surprised Mr Brightside isn't challenging for top 40 after their set at Reading, thought it would have at least climbed a bit from last week. Good to see their latest single appear in the top 100 though!
August 30, 20232 yr Claire has closed the gap on Burna Boy but i doubt will overtake but she should fend of the weeknd to hold number 2.
August 30, 20232 yr Very good update for Claire, looks like she'll definitely be #2 now. Also Burna Boy actually doing better on pure sales than I'd have guessed! I don't think Olivia's label would have bothered moving the physicals forward if they weren't pretty confident they'd be enough for #1 so not surprised at all that she's jumped to a solid lead. Doja should still have a great chance at #1 next week especially now she's established a pretty big lead at #1 on Spotify and hit #1 on Apple as well. I see Zach Bryan/Kacey Musgraves (albeit Kacey not yet credited by the OCC...) were as high as #57 yesterday so 'Try That In A Small Town' should still be keeping its distinction as the only US #1 since 2007 to not chart here (assuming it does hit #1 there which looks increasingly likely). Will be interesting to see if it does become another decently big country hit here, re-entered on Spotify today and also shown up for the first time on Apple.
August 30, 20232 yr 'vampire' would be an AMAZING #1! Easily in my top few songs of the year. Come on Olivia! (Then Doja next week, because also a big fan of that!)
August 30, 20232 yr Definitely here for Olivia to trump Doja!! Great song that I thought would topple Sprinter when it was released, so glad it may get a turn at the top! Although it could be ACR come album release week if its streams have not increased...
August 30, 20232 yr I thought Vampire was just ok at first but the more you hear it it actually is a great song.
August 30, 20232 yr *Fully agree w/ those in the camp of while we/I DEF. prefer Vampire (masterpiece now imo) over the Doja song...I mean significantly lol this still feels icky, shady and like a desperate(ish) cheap move. Just on a totally objective level. Yeah, they highly likely didn't do it last week because of expectations of Dua's physicals. At the min. was a a def. deterrent. Yet, ironically, she underperformed w/ them esp cassettes! Lol BUT Olivia's has had a good few weeks now to accumulate a bunch while Billie and Dua were 'limited time'. Soo...any singer (even your fav.) if they set a specific date many weeks in advance to release 'abruptly decide' (during a random slower week than expected week) to just freely release/switch the date, it doesn't feel right. I know it's the record biz but come on. lol Ya, if the OCC is cracking down on friggin signed/autographs they ESP. shouldn't allow original concrete dates to get moved up to 'whenever'. Must be some kind of regulation for that. If not, a bunch of others gonna see it worked so why not? Edited August 30, 20232 yr by JK1
