Doja’s doing 100k more a day on Spotify, if Olivia’s physicals don’t sell super well I can still maybe see Doja getting the #1 this week

Also still expecting Drake to drop at any Friday at this point who could very likely get to #1 as well

Talking of Drake, he is one of the specialist subjects on Mastermind tonight at 7.30pm on BBC2 if you want to test your Drake knowledge !

It does feel that the release of 'Bad Idea Right' has already been forgotten because 'Vampire' has resurgent popularity and strongly promoted. Unless 'Idea' is just a buzz single? Strange marketing campaign

Fully agree. Odd...all of it. lol The timing of release just as Vampire was really blowing up. Don't think it's 'bad' tho personally I find it flat and like Good For You 2.0 (upbeat pop/rock) attempt but missed the mark.

I've read mixed reviews/feedback. Some love it and about others not so much. Not a momentum killer. Just there. But more about the execution and how it's being promoted. Is it a 'buzz' single to keep things moving or official 2nd single?! Lol The concrete confirmation is odd.

Reeks from they were caught a bit off guard w/ Vampire get these 2nd and 3rd winds so to be safe put this out there but didn't wanna go all out calling it the 2nd official single in case it flopped/under performed? lol Personally, IF it was gonna be this song or whatever, think they should've waited a bit longer. Just an unnecessary & premature release (buzz single or not).

How are these dances "challenges"??? Doing some dance whilst grinning at the camera does not equal going to the moon or climbing Everest, or flying solo across rhe Atlantic!!!
bad idea right? is definitely the 2nd single, it wouldn't be getting radio support if it were a buzz single.
'vampire' hasn't really had a 'second wind', its Spotify streams have dropped every week since its release and look set to do so again this week (and its overall chart sales have dropped all but one week, only had a small increase the week 'bad idea right?' came out). It's just been more stable than the Barbie songs that briefly overtook it + of course jumped ahead of 'Sprinter' when that went to ACR.

I think it's more the fact it got released so soon after vampire, 6 weeks is a fast turn around to bring out the next single

I think labels think they need at least two releases pre album these days!

more than anything, it was a showcase for the album, we've only had Vampire, which had mixed reviews

so they really needed another song to sell the album and something different to Vampire/Driving Licence

so Bad Idea Right was the right sing to release and at the right time too

the goal was to get more pre-orders not to achieve a #1

it's 2023 not 2003

Buzz/promotional singles don't get loads of airplay, otherwise they wouldn't be buzz/promotional singles. It can't get more 'official' than being on the A-list of a major radio station for weeks on end. I thought a buzz single was something that was released separately that gets pretty much feck all airplay, like those ones from - that weren't Eyes Closed.

It certainly seems to have been promoted as the second single proper so far. I do remember seeing a comment on here at the time of release that it was a promo single and there was supposed to be one with a bigger push coming the week after but I don't follow her enough to know what was going on there.

I'd suggest the reason Vampire is the one getting the physicals push for #1 this week and not Bad Idea Right is simply because it's constantly remained ahead on streaming over the past couple of weeks. The rapidly changing physicals picture with Billie and Dua over the past couple of weeks suggest the labels have wised up well to timing and being able to act fast when the time is right.

That Doja song is awful.

Roll on Christmas! It’s just been announced Cliff Richard is releasing a new Christmas album this year. :funky:

It was mentioned on Good Morning Britain but sadly it's not actually a Christmas album!!!! :nocheer:

It's a new refreshed orchestral greatest hits one celebrating 65 years in music. November 3rd so watch out everyone he's coming for Number 1 :Dx

I would gladly download a Cliff Richard song if Ladbaby releases again….
I hope Zak Abel can at least get somewhere with his new album, such an underrated talent
