Inspired by this song that I wasn't going to post in Wardy's thread as that's purely reserved for songs you enjoy that are one hit wonders and well I don't like this and it just plods and his voice is just so uninteresting despite how heartfelt the words are. Also it's a one hit wonder too lol.

Boring as opposed to songs I don’t like?

I feel that the JCB song is boring and never felt the emotion behind it that the rest of the country did! Students at GCSE could write better lyrics.

Well that would be both in a way but just ones that bore you rigid ie this thread haha.

Good thread idea. Obviously a lot of singles (Ladbaby) are atrocious but I'm guessing you mean more dirges. So generally for a song to be the most boring for me it is usually a ballad, extremely successful (as not going to hear a song that goes 30-OUT much but these are pretty inescapable) and I've got a 3 way

Cheesy band name, cheesy lyrics and just doesn't go anywhere. Quite why it was massive over here too, who knows?

Not everything they've done is bad but this was painful with a strangled cat vocal and it's chart run (in the glory Jameela Jamil days :jameela: ) was interminable - it debuted at no.1 but fell on average less than one place a week and they played this every single week!

I know this song has a lot of Buzzjack fans and she is a great artist overall, plus it was a very personal, honest song to write but my god, it was so bland and such a disappointment musically. Just didn't deserve that success it got by default.

Lots of Westlife singles… (but not all of them!)

Lmao if I ever look upon a list of #1 singles and come across a Westlife one that I have no fecking clue how it goes I just know it's bound to be an intense coma inducing dirge. I'm thinking Unbreakable, The Rose etc...

How did I know there'd be songs I really like (Mad World, Hey There Delilah) in this thread already

I always think of a lot of inoffensive early 00s pop, much of which sold on name alone. And the first example that always springs to mind is the second single from Kym Marsh, Come On Over.

Also, this from Westlife, I like a lot of their stuff but this was SO slow and plodding, I guess it was meant to have a Rod Stewart Sailing vibe or something.

I've altered the thread title, my fault as I said 21st Century and should've had in mind us still not mentioning 2020's songs as it's not throwback enough so 2000-2019 only!

An extremely obvious one (and I don't understand the hype at all when we literally had Ivan Gough's version and L'amour Toujours):

^ I'm sure Dobbo will agree with you on Adele there ;)

Haha I actually agree with all 3 of Smint's suggestions, in fact Adele is probably the least boring of the 3!

All three Kym Marsh's singles were # 1s in my chart. :)
