September 28, 20231 yr UNFORTUNATELY working tonight, and I work at a gay bar in Manchester, so probably won’t manage to avoid spoilers but always excited to have this back! Really hoping this can improve on the last two series because there’s something about the UK series that still gets me like no other when it’s on it.
September 28, 20231 yr I find myself less excited for UK than honestly most iterations for some reason, but I do have a good feeling and feel a bit more excited about this season!

September 28, 20231 yr Not mad at Vicki winning, but I wasn't expecting it at all. The critiques for Cara Melle, and her presence throughout that episode and the looks she turned... thought she had that in the bag :o
September 28, 20231 yr I think Vicki won the lipsync to be fair. I noticed throughout the camera angles used to cut out Crystal, they did it really well, but was evident during the lip sync as she was stood next to DeDe in the background. :lol:
September 29, 20231 yr Author I was keeping an eye out for her and I didn't see her! Well, I'm feeling good about my prediction for Ginger Johnson to win, she got a great edit here and they loved her runway dress that I thought was very dull! Kate Butch is seeming to be edited as maybe the Jinkx of the season but it feels like she might become a figure of fun as well. Surprised that Tomara Thomas seems like a narrator so far, I had her pegged as an early out but I'm thinking otherwise now! The one I'm most surprised to see the edit of is Dede. I've seen her perform and host before (now I'm wondering if that was after this was filmed) and she came off totally differently. I would have said actually that she's a comedy queen who can also do glamour but here she seems to be getting a bitch edit/actually being a bit of a bitch and just focusing on looks and dancing. One to keep an eye on! Alexis St Pete came off like a real sweetheart and Banksie as well came off really well imo.
September 29, 20231 yr First impressions I really liked Alexis, Cara and Kate those three I connected straight away with. However, I really like this cast as a whole. The editing team deserve a bafta for how well they edited the other queen out. Fun lip sync song I was obsessed. Great to see drag race queens back for z challenge.
September 29, 20231 yr Such a shame there is no hype this time around because I think that was a FANTASTIC opening episode. The cast completely shone… maybe actually having 10 queens instead of 12 allowed everyone’s personalities to shine but I felt like we got to know everyone which was lovely. Cara Melle is an obvious superstar. It’s brilliant to see some older seasoned queens like Ginger, Michael and Vicki too. On top of that Tomara and Kate Butch were serving so much personality. I honestly think going in with lower expectations made for a fantastic surprise as I think the casting is actually the strongest it’s been in a few seasons… bring it on.

I honestly think going in with lower expectations made for a fantastic surprise as I think the casting is actually the strongest it’s been in a few seasons… bring it on. I have to agree with all of this! I think the kind of lacklustre promo theme killed a bit of the hype as they all looked a bit of a hot mess nj. Hopefully they go for a monochrome theme or even red white and blue like US12 next year!

Happy the first episode was a non-elim episode. Given the edited out queen leaves in episode 2, it's possible that may be a non-elim episode as well for the other queens?
October 2, 20231 yr It does feel like a strong set of queens My other half had to remind me that I’ve seen Alexis St Pete before (she supported Danny Beard on his recent UK tour with lip sync performances) I like seeing what queens bring for the ball challenge but I hate when someone goes home with nothing else (Spanky in Down Under is now my go to example of what could happen if a good queen lands in the bottom on this sort of challenge) I also thought Cara Melle was the strongest but she did lose the lip sync The editing was insane - if I didn’t know I would never have noticed. (Although not sure how I missed that shot of 10 heads and 11 legs at the club - how was Crystal’s face the only one obscured?!)
