October 14, 20232 yr Who do we think is early favourite for #1 in the albums this week? Rick Astley I would have thought? I don't know who's playing the format game though. Edited October 14, 20232 yr by Mangø
October 14, 20232 yr I have now started to love strangers. It took some time to grow on me but in the past week it really clicked! Would be happy to see her stay at #1, but also really hope Tate is able to make it to the top spot as well
October 14, 20232 yr I was thinking Rick Astley is probably the favourite for the #1 album but it wouldn't shock me if Holly Humberstone has a shot at it too. (WhoOdyssey is sometimes on the money with his predictions that random artists I've barely heard of might be #1 contenders so I'll throw out a 'who knows?' to Ren as well - I recognise the name from the song 'Hi Ren' making the rounds on some reaction channels on YouTube a while back although I never bothered to check it out so I can't comment on his music) Rick's last album debuted at #6 in 2018 but with a surprisingly healthy 14.9k sales (was the highest of the year for that position outside Q4), his Glastonbury performance(s) seemed to generate a fair bit of buzz this year to keep his name out there so I could see him doing similar or better numbers this time.
October 15, 20232 yr really interesting week for albums, i'd say it's Rick vs Holly but hard to tell, think they all are playing the game well with lots of signings, multiformats etc
October 15, 20232 yr Interested to see what The Streets can do this week, he got to #2 in 2020 with what is classed as a mixtape so technically the first album since 2011.
October 15, 20232 yr Ren doesn't have physicals on his side which may be his downfall as they're not out until next week but he's #1 digitally on iTunes and Amazon which could play well for him. Rick Astley is probably going to nab it as the next closest contender with physical copies available.
October 15, 20232 yr My guest Agnetha Faltskog Dark horse number 1 with been from abba she been ok iTunes Edited October 15, 20232 yr by Stitch

October 15, 20232 yr I think Rick Astley has a good chance of the number 1 album this week and maybe Agnetha Faltskog at 2 or Holly Humberstone could surprise everyone, Olivia Rodrigo could upset the cart and return to number 1 though as her sales are holding up very well.
October 15, 20232 yr I’m surprised BMG have put two of their artists up against each other (Rick and Agnetha) - usually it’s something they steer well clear of.
