It’s going to be a close one - Ren has added competitions to his website and Rick has released a store exclusive £4.99 download with some covers and Glasto performances on.

OCC -

The race for this week's Official Number 1 album hots up, as Ren's Sick Boi closes in on Rick Astley's latest LP Are We There Yet? in today's update.

Welsh breakout star Ren (full name Ren Erin Gill), raised on the Isle of Anglesey, now sits fewer than 150 chart units behind current leader Rick with his second studio record.

Troye Sivan’s also had some price reductions. Think it’s just the CDs and cassette but not vinyl.

Wondering if that’s an “it has a chance at Top 5” or “need to try and keep this Top 10” move from his label

I read there was also a competition on troye’s site now

With the winner getting a phone call from troye hahahaha :)

He's currently #4!

Elsewhere in today's Top 5 update, Holly Humberstone's debut LP Paint My Bedroom Black eyes a Number 3 entry, while Troye Sivan could claim a career-best with his third studio release Something to Give Each Other, predicted to land at Number 4.

The Streets' The Darker the Shadow the Brighter the Light could also earn Mike Skinner a Top 5 placing this week (5). The Streets last saw such success with 2020's None of Us Are Getting Out of this Life Alive (2).

Love a last minute hustle!

Hope Troye can go top 20 with One Of Your Girls so he has an entry in the top 20, 30 and 40 consecutively

Those Top 5 sales - #1 and #2 could easily swap and the ones behind could end up in any order!

I would never have predicted that there would be a day that Troye would have 3 top 40 hits in one week.

Was hoping Beverley Knight’s album might have made an appearance but unlikely.

I don’t think it was ever going to live past week 1, at least it scrapped the Top 40 last week.

amazing how close 1-2 and 3-4-5 are in albums

too bad Boygenius dropped so much :/

20% off code has been released for Rens album - really hope he manages to nab the #1!

Should these versions not be combined?

Looks like an error that hopefully the OCC will correct by the end of the week (they were also listed as separate entries yesterday too).

Looks like OOYG could outpeak Rush

I would say it definitely will given it’s already outpeaked it on Spotify and should go top 20 officially by Friday

How do these competitions work? cos on principle they are only allowed if you can also participate without buying anything

so if you can participate without buying, what's the point? I think I'm missing something
