A top 5 summer hit in 2000, German Dance group York crash out 6th with 'On The Beach'. The song which takes the guitar riff of Chris Rea's 80's track of the same name. Chris did play guitar for York on a Top of the Pop's performance but had to step out of further promotion for the song in Ibiza due to a recent heart attack at the time. York have two other top 40 hits to their name but this is the one that is best remembered!

Still think York's been done dirty there but I guess at least it finished above all the real absolute crap so I won't grumble further lol.

Voting Uniting Nations again.

Hmm a little baffled by York not making the Top 5 in a fairly meh group, and love Keane but actually a bit surprised at them breezing through with one of their weakest singles. Sticking with Xtina though.

100% this

'On The Beach' is such a classic tune :( 'Is It Any Wonder' is pretty unremarkable to say the least.

Gutted at York leaving! One of my favourite dance songs!

Have gone for Keane this time, it’s not a huge highlight from them for me.
