Brenda Lee is going to be releasing a music video for Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree for the first time!

She'll be hoping for the US #1 this year, after peaking at #2 every season since 2019. And last year she had her best year in the UK, too, reaching #4.

I don’t think it’s charted on Spotify US yet! It’s got a lot of catching up to do.

Monday 6th November midweek chart

35 Mariah Carey, all I want for Christmas is you?

40 wham last Christmas

When did Wham overtake The Pogues, was it the second half of the 2010s? During the iTunes days it seemed to be AIWFCIY and Fairytale of New York being the main battle each year.

It coincides with when George Michael died but it's probably also partly due to when streaming took over from download sales, again around 2016. 'Last Christmas' is usually placed higher than 'Fairytale Of New York' on Christmas playlists.
oh Sam Ryder and Anne Marie are original songs and Jorja Smith is a cover of East 17's Stay Another Day

Full list of Amazon Originals for this year, although of course Sam Ryder, Anne-Marie and Jorja Smith look to be the ones that will be most pushed in the UK:

“Merry Christmas Baby” by Chlöe

“Winter Wonderland” by Chlöe

“Jingle Bells” by Meghan Trainor

“Heart Shaker (GALACTIKA * Holiday Remix)” by TWICE

“You’re Christmas to Me” by Sam Ryder

“Wonderful Christmastime” by Walk Off The Earth

“Your Christmas” by Tokio Hotel

“Christmas Without You“ by Anne-Marie

“Christmas is All Around“ by Sam Fischer

“Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” by Annalisa

“Silver Bells” by Stephen Sanchez

“Stay Another Day” by Jorja Smith

“Jingle Bell Rock” by Jesse & Joy, De Viaje con los Derbez

“Yo Vengo Del Monte” by Niña Pastori

“Navidad, Navidad” by Banda MS

“Silent Night” by Camélia Jordana

Christmas seems to get earlier every year. I can’t believe Mariah is already T40 on iTunes and it’s only early November.
That Sam Ryder one is fantastic! Sounds like one that could catch on in years to come.

Anne Marie released a Christmas song last year ‘Think of Christmas’!

Do you guys think that the British general population is starting to get bored of All I Want For Christmas Is You?
It's set to enter the Top 40 earlier than ever before which would suggest no! It just happens to have been overtaken by another Christmas song in terms of overall popularity in the last couple of years.

Do you ever get bored of asking this question or some variant on it? No offence but this has to be at least the 10th time :kink:

I don't think this website is ever going to give you a satisfying answer to this, you see the same data as everyone else, make your own conclusions x
