I didn't vote for either of that top 2 but Brutalismus 3000 was definitely the better of the two by far for me (Amazingblaze wasn't bad but one of the least standout songs for me so rather shocked it did so well, sorry Lewis!), congrats Rich :jump:

Thanks to all the voters, lovely to see <3 Bit of a crazy racket of a song but - as with some of the other noisy bangers I've sent to BJSC and Unknown Pleasures - I've been obsessed with it for months. I really loved my entry but can understand if it may have been too intense, repetitive, or both for the majority :lol: thanks to those who pointed including that last minute top up from Leww <3 at least I escaped the bottom 5 in the end. Happy that my favourite in the contest did as well as 4th!

Only voted for 4 of the top 10 in the end there although at least my 12 was the highest placing of those, 4th not bad for I Hate Models. Glad that Stef De Haan snuck in at the end too!

 

I guess this was an unpredictable contest in general with so many songs sounding so similar but there are quite a few songs in the top 10 there that did not strike me as being big hits at all! (including Ebende in that even though I gave it a point, I was thinking that'd be one of the least successful songs out of my votes but it ended up being the 2nd highest argh). Meanwhile several of my faves which stood out a lot more to me, especially Kangding Ray, being done dirty :'( and although I didn't vote for it I would have expected Amesens to do pretty well considering it sounds very similar to (and imo better than) the Argy song that just won BJSC but hey ho! Likewise it seems weird to see Geo22 getting such a mediocre result after winning BJSC with again an inferior song imo.

 

In summary... it is the children who are wrong x

oh yeah and I did have entry envy with Nekomata Master, I would normally head in that direction but my initial choice turned out to not be experimental electronica after all and I had to rush a bit to find a techno replacement (as at least I know what that sounds like, even if it's my least favourite mainstream dance genre on balance).

 

I wasn't expecting very much out of this, particularly after my backup ended up being the eventual winner over in BJSC* and I went and then found a vague copy of it that well, it got a fair few points I guess, thank you for those and the positive comparison Bre! Thank you for hosting Rollo!

Seems I underestimated my own entry, escaping not only the bottom 4 but the bottom 8 :o and breaking my run of 5 non-top 20 finishes for contests other than retro and BJSC. I must say I think Broosnica have much better songs, 'Enter The Energy' had a long run on my chart and 'Non-Fungible Memory' which was the second of my vetoes for being trance (the Aaamourocean & TDJ one was the first for the same reason) is more up my street, but this arrived on Spotify the day I needed to reconfirm and I thought the artwork would go down well at least so I went with it. Thanks to all who voted!

anyways... WOW WOW WOW @ 3rd!!! My highest video game song and definitely one that I wasn't expecting! I went with something more on the artcore end of experimental (as I thought the concept was very broad and wanted to go with something different, and I was unsure whether I wanted to go with this bc it felt WAY TOO OBVIOUS) and I'm SO HAPPY with the end result! Thanks especially to Jim, Dan and Cow for the 12 points! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

 

I was gonna play this song on a nearby Beatmania IIDX cabinet but all the machines were in maintenance mode when I went to Round 1 :cry: regardless the 22nd release for that game has some of my favorite songs and I definitely considered a few for this contest so maybe more video game songs in the future?

Congrats gooddelta! Was not far off my votes but found it much weaker than their BSJC entry earlier this year.

 

Pretty pleased with 4th! Was a very similar story to the previous Best Song Contes In The World Ever with a lot of 12s or 0s, glad it struck a note with a few of you.
