Teddy swims potentially coming for a hit in the new year? I’ve never heard it so just looking at it I don’t have a clue what sort of song it is lol

It's a soul/R&B ballad, already spent a few weeks in the top 100 but indeed looks like it could become a proper hit in the new year now. Didn't blow me away on first listen but might be a grower.
I don't think so. Amazon updates much more regularly than Apple Music. Plus I think Apple Music is a rolling 24 (or 48?) hour chart similar to iTunes, so it won't be until tonight/tomorrow that it will start showing Christmas songs falling fast.

Can't wait to see Apple/Spotify charts tomorrow. :cheer:

Yeh Apples home page only updated tonight with Party Music playlists aimed at NYe whereas lastnyt it was still Xmas playlists leading.

Amazon 100% tries to suddenly filter out Christmas songs (it does the same before the Christmas period too). It fails - as it misses some Christmas songs. It even removes Christmas songs from their Christmas songs chart - so we currently have ‘Sound Of The Underground’ at 4 in their Christmas songs chart and Céline ‘Think Twice’ at 5.

Apple appears to be a 24 hour rolling chart - you can tell this from its charts on Fridays and Saturdays - new songs often start to decline during Saturday. Overnight, Stick Season has finally knocked ‘Last Christmas’ down to number 2, meaning ‘Last Christmas’ was still the 2nd most streamed track on 27th.

Crazy to see that 'Surround Sound' is on the verge of cracking the top 40 after it's release nearly two years ago! I'm also here for 'Stick Season' getting #1 for a few weeks!

Wow 555k for Noah

Sophie top 40 yay

A curiously small climb for 'DNA', going from being the 25th highest non-Christmas song to the 53rd in a day?
Fans of EDM less likely to be putting on Xmas music so all the people who were listening to Xmas are now going back to other songs.

For this reason I also think it's unlikely the song will go UK top 10 in the new year even though it's the 4th highest non-Xmas song in the midweek update.

Could this be the year that Mr Brightside finally goes top 40 again?
Probably as it'll get a NYE party boost on top of what it's already got

Got wierd songs back in here why Eminem come back same and Kanye west
Eminem had a Fortnite concert thing which gave his songs a further boost on top of their base level of popularity. Kanye is just TikTok I think.
Wow Popular at #13!! What’s behind the sudden surge? Surely it should get reset now?
I genuinely find the first charts of the year more interesting as the tracks that were pushed down due to Christmas in December sound fresh again. Plus loads of new ones coming through to check out - Teddy Swims, Weeknd, JID/21, Central Cee. Nice to see Hozier and Sophie back in top 50 - not so keen on Kanye. But no-one seems cancellable nowadays.

Really hope Sabrina continues to climb further and go Top 40!

Was hoping "run for the hills" would make a rebound but I guess it's not on any playlists, absolutely robbed of a Top 40 peak :(

The songs which went to ACR in December will almost certainly get resets but some songs ie strangers which went to ACR esrlier in the year won’t be automatic. No need to panic about songs like sprinter and strangers getting reset lol

The only way for songs like Sprinter and Strangers to get resets is if they have 25%+ increase

no they won’t - please refer to the faq thread about January resets

It's crazy to me how those The Weeknd tracks have managed to become genuinely popular hits after the show they were being used to promote, was a colossal flop and got cancelled mid-way through the season!
