Hampstead and dandelion are my favourites from the new tracks based off initial listens!

Still yet to see the film (I’ve had such a nightmare Friday then a really busy Saturday and I need to fully focus for first watch hopefully tomorrow..)

But I think this era is a real triumph. She didn’t necessarily lose me with Positions as there’s some major vocal moments on that era my only critique on that album was the length of the tracks feeling far too short for a lot of the album but this era is a lot more to my taste and there’s no real supershort tracks on this era where any track kinda just ends as it’s really getting going.

Definitely a golden Ariana album and era all around and this deluxe is a lovely way of closing this era of her career. There’s been a lot of thought gone into this too visually and creatively.

That means only 2 of her albums have done less than 52 weeks in the chart. Those being "Yours Truly" (5 weeks) and "positions" (43 weeks).

Anniversary coming up shortly so I sure hope so, this album has been THE soundtrack to my life for the last year and I need more, need to know what's next. It's like therapy to my ears.

Album tracks in the first look chart:

#16 Hampstead

#15 intro (end of the world)

interesting that it's these over 'dandelion' and 'warm' right now 😮 the extended intro must've been combined with the original.

I can’t stop listening to all the new tracks, they’re all some of my favourites on the album now. past life is already shaping up to be one of my overall favourites of hers, can’t get enough of it.

Album at #3 on Mondays update!

(Will edit post with sales when these are available).

Quite a good entry though I’d say!

EDIT: (sales updated).

ne 01 Mumford & Sons - RUSHMERE (31,569) [29,492 physicals, 1,123 streaming, 954 downloads]

ne 02 The Darkness - Dreams on Toast (24,363)

re 03 Ariana Grande - eternal sunshine (9,381)

ne 04 Lucy Dacus - Forever Is a Feeling (7,188)

down 05 Sabrina Carpenter - Short n' Sweet (5,139)

Intrigued to see the sales, perhaps she’ll have a shot at #2 by the end of the week as she’s more streaming friendly than The Darkness. I’m sure she’ll outdo the first week sales of the positions deluxe with ease, especially as its physicals were staggered.

Edit: oh maybe not beating The Darkness as they have a really good head start 😮 and Sabrina looms, maybe #4 lowest?

Album track-wise ‘intro (end of the world)’ has been kicked out of the mids now for ‘dandelion’ (#18) alongside ‘Hampstead’ (#20) - sad that ‘warm’ isn’t going to be one of her 3 charting tracks!

Hampstead is my least favourite of the new tracks so I kinda wish that fell out instead of the intro lol

Finally home and listening to the vinyl. It's absolutely STUNNING. LOVE the blue they've used! The new tracks are so good. 'Warm' in particular is hitting really hard. Would love that to take off towards the end of Summer (with some kind of tropical house remix perhaps??)

'Twilight Zone' & 'Hampstead' are both stunning. On first listen on Friday I thought the new tracks were "cute" but not really grabbing me in the way I expected/wanted, but they've had a hold since!

I love, love, LOVE that she fit ALL the new tracks together on the final side of the vinyl!

Sabrina was on sales of (5,468) last Monday in the update and by Friday she was on 16,060k.

Ari being on 9.3k on the Monday update are we thinking a similar-ish figure by Friday or will most the sales have already been dispatched etc

If Sabrina was to overtake I think we’d still stay at #4 but hopefully we can maintain the #3! On Apple UK the albums #1 on that streaming chart.

Fingers crossed she can keep #3 indeed - shall have to see what the numbers look like tomorrow! The album tracks seem really stable, if not mostly climbing, on both Apple and Spotify today. 'twilight zone' just reached a new Apple high of #4 💙

'Hampstead' may be one of her three charting tracks in the mids but 'warm' is ahead on streaming today... I wonder if that has a shot of charting as well next week. Ari the hit-maker that you are!

TalkoftheCharts has mentioned that eternal sunshine is in the race for #1 in the U.S.

My current rank of the deluxe tracks:

  1. twilight zone

  2. warm

  3. past life

  4. intro (end of the world) - extended

  5. Hampstead

  6. dandelion

Just bought another CD from her store! The store exclusive one this time. Helping her out for those sales for re-release week!

Just wish the UK store had signed editions! She could’ve definitely added some extra pure sales with ease with those! But quite a busy week UK wise competing against acts with loyal pure buyers this week!

I wish the U.K. got the signed CDs too 💔

Chatting to my colleague about the deluxe in the office today and his favourites are the extended intro and ‘dandelion’!

dandelion sounds huge!! Although it probably fits the theme of the eternal sunshine era the least from the tracks. I think it’s more thank u, next era but it definitely sounds like a massive hit!

All the new tracks add something to what’s already a really strong album though. I was always a Sweetener stan but I think this era might actually eclipse it potentially!

I love the ethereal soundscape she's explored throughout a lot of this album, especially on some of the deluxe tracks. I need her to go full Imogen Heap and release an album centered around her vocal layering bratcheeseblock

Wednesday update!

ne 01 Mumford & Sons - RUSHMERE (33,326) [30,392 physicals, 1,853 streaming, 1,081 downloads]

ne 02 The Darkness - Dreams on Toast (26,012)

re 03 Ariana Grande - eternal sunshine (13,440)

down 04 Sabrina Carpenter - Short n' Sweet (9,349)

ne 05 Lucy Dacus - Forever Is a Feeling (7,776)

Hoping she can keep the #3 😃

Speaking of Ari's vocal layering... her team has released an acapella only version of the album! Some more great artwork from this era:

Fingers crossed she can keep #3 here indeed. I see 'Hampstead' has been swapped out for 'intro (end of the world)' as one of her three charting songs again lol

The deluxe helped this album return to #1 in the US this week, with 137k units!

3 weeks in total which is the longest stay at #1 for an Ari album clap

Amazing! It's a shame she doesn't do signed copies in the UK / Europe because I'm sure she would of hit number 1 over here too!
