The label will have to go out of their way to give Sam a credit so it should be expected that he won't get one. Wow at that managing such a strong debut though - I guess Noah's stock has really increased dramatically even since the release of 'Northern Attitude' and it's been a while since Sam Fender last released anything new but I'd have never expect it to debut with over 600k, looks very possible Noah could have both of the top 2 for a while if this song is given a proper push. 'Stick Season' looking good for yet another increase this week too, perhaps coming for over 80k with a bit of help from the physical release as well?

 

'redrum' re-entering the top 10 today even with Noah debuting ahead so possibly in a good position to climb into the official top 10 this week.

That's insane for Noah??? I really don't get the appeal of 'Stick Season' at all Just another generic, male singer song-writer song. Bleh. There are hundreds before him and there will be hundreds after him.

 

Not saying it's a super unique song or anything but it is quite different to most of the other big singer-songwriter hits of the last few years I'd say (a throwback to the Mumford & Sons folk pop style).

I would argue Stick Season is quite refreshing chart wise and agree with it being Mumford and sons throwback with its folk-pop. Which to be fair they were huge early in the career with the same sound.

'Stick Season' does nothing for me but it's a song that I've seen get the whole pub singing along to every time it plays, I can definitely see it's mass appeal.

Stuck Season really is pulling ahead still. I’ve heard it a few times now and it’s starting to grow on me.
