And not before time! Can’t wait!
So glad they're giving us another one. I was worried they were going to leave it all how the 2019 special ended, but hopefully this one can be a big last hurrah with everything wholesome and complete
This is brilliant news, love the show, and loved the last Christmas special, this really is something great to look forward to.

Ruth Jones seems to have shut down the Christmas Special Rumour

She says a lot of words… but calls it a “rumour” and doesn’t actually say it’s not happening.

I’ve seen a few journalists say that Deadline wouldn’t have reported on it if they weren’t sure, so I expect there will be an official announcement a few months from now.

Don’t think I could take anoth Xmas day of eastenders, Call the Mid Wife and Ames Browns Boys

Can’t wait! I honestly didn’t realise it’s been nearly 5 years since the last special. It feels like it was only on a couple of years ago.
Can’t wait for this! Ruth Jones was clearly just trying to keep it quiet then by saying it was nonsense
The wording was very clever looking back. She didn’t say there wouldn’t be a Christmas special this year. She said the rumour of a bidding war between the BBC and Netflix wasn’t true. I’m glad but kind of disappointed they are going for a finale instead just churning out specials for the sake of it because you could ruin the show doing that.

I guess they want to wrap it up properly while they can, as some of the older cast are in their late 70s now.

I think it's brave to say it's a definitive finale, because you can't really do any more after that.

Well, you can, but it's a bit odd.

I don't think it's that odd. The shows donkeys years old now and it's probably about time it got a proper closure.

Expect it will do very good ratings as part of an impressive BBC Christmas Day lineup (maybe switch EE and CTM round):

Something like

16:30 Wallace and Gromit

18:00 BBC News

18:10 Doctor Who

19:00 Call the Midwife

20:00 EastEnders

21:00 Gavin and Stacey

I don't think it's that odd. The shows donkeys years old now and it's probably about time it got a proper closure.
Sorry, when I say it's odd, I mean when shows do "final ever" shows but then return a few years later.

I was unclear, apologies. I don't think G&S ever did that necessarily, unless they did.

Im really looking forward to it and im fine with its the final episode as it gives closure to everything and leaves a great legacy behind.
