That last point is interesting though for the numbers department. Willie Nelson is 29 seconds long and an interlude right but it added over 3 mill to the total so it’s a little misleading her numbers overall when having so many tracks some of them very short and not even songs add 10+ mill to the total. The album is good it’s just 27 tracks so that adds a bit of context

 

 

I posted the Renaissance first day numbers for comparison, Cowboy Carter is a big improvement. No need to keep moving the goalposts, in theory if having more tracks is responsible for the bigger numbers that should mean the streams are more spread out but that’s not the case, the top performing tracks on Cowboy Carter are doing much better than their equivalents on Renaissance.

The least streamed track on Cowboy Carter was still 42k higher than the lowest streamed track on Renaissance

 

But of course Buzzjack doesn’t care about that, the bias is so evident

 

I suppose Renaissance put her back on the map as it was a well received comeback so this album release despite being talked about a lot due to the fact it’s a Beyonce country album will alway mean it’s benefited from that with higher figures.

 

Be interesting to see if Benson can get a third week at the top or if Texas can increase or maintain?

 

I’m not a fan of songs returning to the top (just in terms of chart runs) so would be nice if Benson can get a 3rd week then another song off Beyoncé’s album can increase like the current Ariana single and challenge for the top spot. Jolene preferably!

This is the first time she has been #1 on the Global Spotify Daily Artists chart and also marks only the fifth woman to ever top it: Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Adele, SZA and now Beyoncé. So there wasn't a guarantee of that.

Ah a very impressive album bomb for Beyonce overall but her chances of returning to #1 not looking so strong on the numbers of the top 3 tracks then.

 

Glad to see Artemas within distance of the #5 position on Spotify. Would be fantastic for this to be the next chart topper.

Looks like Beyoncé will reclaim #1 on Friday and I was expecting 16 Carriages to be in her top 3 most streamed

None of MGK and Trippie red’s new album charted in Spotify global or UK top 200

While Beyonce's numbers are impressive, they're not quite up there with what I was personally expecting. Looking at Renaissance's numbers, she definitely doing better this time in comparison. Seem's likely it'll be Taylor Swift who knocks off most-streamed album of the year perch.

Putting aside any needless comparisons to other artists, it looks like 'COWBOY CARTER' will probably have at least a modest improvement on the first week streaming numbers of 'RENAISSANCE' which is good going especially with it being (primarily) a less UK friendly genre.

 

Nice to see '16 CARRIAGES' getting a new Spotify peak but a shame it'll almost definitely be blocked from getting a new official peak because of the 3 track rule, a far better song than 'TEXAS HOLD 'EM' for me.
