April 9, 20241 yr Day 9: The song that inspired this theme suggestion, I’ve started to go back through some of Janet Jackson’s old albums that I didn’t hear before and this from the Janet album is an incredible song. Somebody online pointed out that Made In London’s Dirty Water (No.15 in 2000) is a straight rip-off and it’s hard to argue with that. Sounds the same in almost every way but I love both. LsPb2EVCLdg
April 9, 20241 yr As folk rock is doing well at the moment I thought I’d go with this from 1970 - just bask in those harmonies. MeMS8SuHPs0

April 9, 20241 yr I don't venture enough away from what I know to "discover" an older song tbh... I usually either know it already or if I've never heard it, it's because my tastes don't align with it and I don't care for it. I'll try and think of something but there isn't something "recently" that I've discovered...
April 9, 20241 yr April 9th - A song from the 20th century that you only recently discovered Qu3R-H5on1s Magazine - Shot By Both Sides I've been immersed in a lot of late 70s and early 80s new wave/post-punk style music recently. As a result, I found 'Shot By Both Sides' by Magazine, a fab discovery. This song dates back to 1978 and frustratingly peaked at #41 in the U.K.! April 9, 20241 yr Day 9 - Woody Guthrie - Tear the Fascists Down The most recent new addition to my library that's from last century is this little ditty from the legend that is Woody Guthrie. I know plenty of his work but this somehow passed me by until I saw a version of it in the TV show Masters of the Air. First written and performed in 1941 originally although this recording is from 1944 I believe. -3xUPpkxAco Edited April 9, 20241 yr by Severin

April 9, 20241 yr DAY NINE: SONG FROM LAST CENTURY 8soQkubMk1g It's not entirely a new discovery as such as I've recognised it for a long time, but it's the most recent addition to my iTunes library from the 20th century after I heard it in a Netflix drama last year and realised how much I liked it

April 9, 20241 yr Unironically I think this is the only song from the 20th century I've discovered in months! I used to listen to loads of music from before I was born but it's become less important for me now. 4yw0bLHTOb0
