really weird about Fontaines, is the song one of those pre-viral things ala Black Friday/Eat Your Young?

 

cos I remember. while ago, they released a comeback single midweek that was very good, and I was like expecting it to be at least top 200 on Spotify but nothing happened at all despite their popularity, so kinda weird now they're able to debut so high?

No, it’s not gone viral unfortunately - so I expect it’ll drop now in both charts.

 

This is their first new music in 2 years (aside from a cover), so I guess they’ve just built up a decent fanbase in that time.

Really don’t get the shock for Fontaines DC debuting high for them, I mean they’ve built a big fanbase over the past 3 albums and are huge now imo!
Surprised Benson and Hozier are still top 1 but I assume that’s because of two versions of most songs.

It wouldn’t surprise me if ‘I Can Do It With A Broken Heart’ is the one that surprises and stays relatively high when the tracks start to fall. It’s definitely the song I have seen used most in Tik Toks. (Maybe it won’t but I wouldn’t be surprised)

Last album was two years ago, and I think it's fair to say it helped build their profile.

'Fortnight' has done 1,675,220 streams and all of Taylor's top 7 are over 1M *.*
7 songs over 1M and the top song 1.675M :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: and there was genuinely a group who didn't think she'd break 1M with the top track. I have to laugh sorry x
