It'll be her physicals that have plummeted, she'll be way out in front on streaming by Friday. To be expected with any big release.
April 29, 20241 yr Wow, 1k, PSB pretty much always sell 12-15k with each studio album, so assuming they've shifted the majority of that already, Taylor could be on 15k at this stage. I guess the physical sales must have almost completely dried up.

Exactly, I think he just meant that for somebody of the modern day equivalent status of Michael Jackson, her hits and melodies don’t feel as well known to the whole of the general public. She’s extremely well known to millennials and under, but past that I’m not sure any individual song is known en masse by every age group. But music generally isn’t like that anymore due to the change in music consumption and the multitude of channels we have to access music compared to in the 80s, it’s not a phenomenon that is exclusive to Taylor. He also pointed out that most music these days is about the self - me, myself and I. Whereas in the past there used to be more hits about other people, character studies, just generally other subjects altogether. But social media is surely partly responsible for that change, people have become more conscious of themselves and how they portray themselves publicly and compare themselves to others more.
