Was wondering if there was going to be a separate thread for the results, glad that there is! Looking forward to the results.
Not sure how long I'm going to be staying up for. Definitely to see the exit poll and maybe the first results to see if they tally with the exit poll. If it tallies there's not really much pointing staying up all night to just watch the seat declarations.

This is the first time I have had to go to work the day after a general election, so I don't know whether I will last all night!

The exit poll will be interesting. The pollsters have generally done their polling in mostly the same constituencies at each election, allowing them to make a direct comparison. This time, some constituencies have been redrawn significantly (or abolished / newly created). There is some evidence that the Tory vote is collapsing more dramatically in their safest seats and that the Labour vote is increasing relatively little in their safest seats. If those seats are not properly represented in the exit poll, the poll may be rather less accurate than it has been in recent elections.

Β

If the numbers of Tory / Lib Dem seats are close in the exit poll, expect a discussion on what happens if they get the same number of seats. I assume the Tories will claim that they should be the Official Opposition having won more votes while the Lib Dems claim that both parties should have equal status, possibly alternating turns at the Dispatch Box.

Not sure if I’ll stay through the night like previous elections, but will catch the exit poll and some of the initial results.

Still think the Tory seat number will be higher than the opinion poll figures, and the pro-Gaza indies will poll better than expected, but a healthy Labour majority is a definite certainty.

Praying hard for a major Tory wipeout projection in the exit poll πŸ™ Hoping that the Lib Dems to make some big gains as well!

Β

I'm just hugely excited as it looks like the Tories will be gone from my constituency (it's currently between SNP and Labour to take it, the former leading by a bit right now).

Β

I'm guessing Labour might have a figure around 421 for the exit poll?

Ooh this is sort of exciting but terrifying.

A similar landslide to 1997 then, albeit with the Tories on less than that year. 13 for Reform does seem high though, I think that could fall during the night.

Β

19 Others though, I wonder who those are?

Reform and Conservatives ahead of expectations but that won't matter, hopefully reality is less kind to them than this.

f***ing HURRAY we're on for a Labour government now.

Do we tend to see drastic changes from the exit poll? I can't remember.

18 NI plus one other. Presumably Corbyn or Galloway.
