This tbh - if we look at comparable latest releases from females that are far into their career:

Paloma Faith: 2-37-87

Jesse Ware: 3-68

Dolly Parton: 5-64

Katy Perry: 6-out

Rita Ora: 6-out

Jess Glynne: 6-out

Alison Moyet: 8-out

Lady Gaga: 11-out

Cher: 44-out

Emeli Sande: 49-out

Jennifer Lopez: 55-out

And aside from the above we commonly see artists drop from 1 to outside of the Top 100 (Shed Seven, Ben Howard etc)

Cher's Christmas album shows the importance of promo, she went 42 - OUT - 8 - 5- 5 thanks to appearances and performances on Graham Norton, The Royal Variety and a few other performances including Royal Albert Hall etc.

Wonder why Kylie didn't do a performance on Strictly or Graham Norton? Maybe promotion might kick up again closer to Xmas surely they won't just leave the album to die.

I really hope so but I have a feeling the album promo is done - can see Kylie wanting a break in Australia rather than trying to flog a few more copies of T2, they might throw out another pressing for the Christmas market maybe to grab a few more sales?

If she could fit it in strictly could give it a boost and help get nearer to silver.

77 is better today than I was expecting, hopefully she can hang on in the top 100.

77 is not so bad...if you don't look at the midweeks....It is the strangest midweek album chart I have ever seen. 87 Albums moved up, not by 1 0r 2 positions either, most went up by 10 or more..only 13 dropped. On the flip side, Kylie probably had the smallest fall

It would take so little for BMG to keep it top 100, just use the Taylor method and give us a slightly different version/discount/signed vinyl every week, I’m shocked they’re seemingly happy to let it flounder after week 1

^^ They wouldn’t even have to do that m, drop the CD/Download to £5 and Vinyl to £20 and bag another week Top 75.

BMG never seem to do anything outside of week 1 though - they are seemingly happy for all their artists to throw it all at week 1 and then that’s it.

I cant understand why they dont do discounts after, like now would be a good time, sitting on stock wont earn any money.
I was prepared to read that it had fallen out of the Top 100 in the mids, so being #77 surprised me! Not sure if it'll be enough to hang on to the Top 100 in week 3, we'll see. Watch it end up at #101
Guys, honestly - the record label or Kylie herself only ever used T2 as a vehicle to sell tour tickets, and in the process get a no1 album. All the suggestions here are great but I'm sure Kylie and team will save all of the promos and colour discs for the next PROPER album. It would be a waste to spend it on T2. T2 did its job: concert tickets selling. She moved up in the record books. All parties happy.

Totally agree. Tied it all in with the tour announcements. There might be a radio single coming soon or early next year but given she’s had the three collabs and LCA receiving A list Radio 2 attention it’s unlikely. They’ll just maximise the Australia leg to stir up some hype to try and sell as many tickets in the venues that have not sold out. The tour effect and T2 release has improved her overall streaming too.

Yes. And I don't think they'll feel too bad if the next "single" from T2 doesn't get radio airplay or sales.
It's pretty funny that on Wikipedia LCA is listed as the only single from T2 so far when My Oh My exists (other 3 collaborations appear on someone else's album too so a case can be made with them).

I don't know how this is all going to pan out. We do know that PP, 2 number 1 albums and the tour are interlocked. We are also aware week 2 sales of both albums left a lot to be desired. I am sure Darenote and BMG are very aware of this.

At this stage it feels safe to say the tour will enhance SBIT rather than t1 or t2 as far as sales

So what would you think they need to do from here? This is what I think and it is honestly a IMO moment, please post your desires without putting mine down.

I don't believe there is anything left on T2 to push, I think thier is one song left on T1 that is maybe not too late, but after the complete f*** up, it would be hard to push HOTN, this would need to have that video released that we all know is available and Kylie priortising it on the tour, I don't think that will happen.

So for me a slam dunk is still available, a total faithful update to BTDYK. A brilliant remake of the video , strongly enhancing the beat that put BTDYK so ahead of it's time....What can I say, it is a dream

Not putting the above or anyone’s opinions down but between here and SH you would think this album entered at #93 and dropped out.

Kylie has had ups and downs all through her career - but this for me is certainly the former, another #1, strong first week sales, global tour…

Not overly surprising - I was half expecting streaming to push it out of the charts due to the way the end of the charts are clogged up by Greatest Hits
A Kylie studio album spending 2 weeks on the charts was not what I expected from 2024
