lol how on Earth did Harvey and Kathy not notice Cindy stood there bold as brass?

  • Look who reunited in real life this week! 😍 Apparently Shane Richie and Steve McFadden were there as well so a mini EE reunion in general.

Tonight's episode was fantastic. I was totally engaged all the way through, to the point I didn't even think I was watching people act. Uncomfortable viewing at times, but realistically so. I complete

I've recently watched form 2008 and now in 2018. And all i can think the whole time is that sonia might be the worst character assassination in British television ever?

It’s up there for sure, did Natalie Cassidy just say “ruin Sonia so I never come back” or something?

Watching EastEnders Sings At The BBC, enjoying it.

About time Shona McGarty got a recording contract.

Great to see that Blue Peter performance of Get Ready with Michelle Collins.

Never knew Samantha Womack was in EastEnders before as Wicksy's girlfriend.

Must have been around 1989/1990.

They coiuld have done with losing the Busted, Blue, Blur and Spandau clips though think there was a lot more they could have included maybe making it 2hrs.

More CIN performances, Royal Variety Performance, plus

Sid Owen & Patsy Palmer - Better Believe It

Tom Watt (Lofty) - Subterranean Homesick Blues

Mike Sarne & Wendy Richard - Come Outside (all though there probably wasn't anything visual for that)

Jan Graveson (Disa) - Anyone Who Had A Heart

There was an error when they said the Taveniers were the first black family when it was actually the Carpenters at the very beginning in 1985

Not sure this is a character assassination for Sonia tbh. She’s largely been awful throughout her tenure, it’s only the last 5/6 years where they started writing her like some hilarious icon. She’s known for some massive stories from 20 years ago but having rewatched her entire first stint recently on the Drama channel, she was always misguided, stubborn, rude, never thinking she has to listen to anyone else, selfish and always making massive mistakes. This latest story slots right in with that. And just remember, until last week, she hadn’t seen the side of Reiss we’ve seen for months and, in all fairness, Bianca and Lauren have largely been unreliable loudmouths throughout their time on the show.

And remember, Natalie didn’t quit over this storyline, the storyline developed because she quit.

Which would people say has been the best anniversary week episodes that EastEnders have done?

The 25th anniversary always sticks in my mind as the "Who Killed Archie?" Reveal was so well done (plus the live ep was really good); it was the first anniversary I really remembered and got fully immersed in.

The 30th was great (How's Adam?, Kathy Return!) for the "Who Killed Lucy?" Reveal and a whole week of live bits!

Sooo the papers are saying that Gran't big comeback storyline is a romance with a married woman on thr Swuare, maybe Honey or Sharpn!!!  Couldn't they do something else?!

Both were great in different ways so all going well the 40th will be aswell.

I'm really starting to think Cindy's attacker will be a returnee more so than someone currently in the show, who I don't know but maybe someone like Cindy junior, or Max Branning both could have a motive.

I still think the attacker is either Jean, Max, Cindy Jr or Janine lol

I don't think it'll land correctly if it's someone that isn't currently in the show and there isn't a known motive either for them. My money is on Peter, but tbh I couldn't care less about it next week as I really just want to see the Reiss comeuppance and what happens with

the fire at The Vic

.

If I've read correctly, there is no early iPlayer release at all on any day this week.

EastEnders Weakest Link was on last night - Rocky, Lola, Howie, Linda, Sonia, Callum, Harvey and Karen.

It was actually a good watch. Kellie Bright's laugh is infectious!

Ian, Cindy, Ann and Junior (I think) were on Bridge of Lies with Ross Kemp just before, but I only caught the end of it.

Good to see the actors getting to do so much in the lead up to the 40th.

It has felt like the longest wait ever today. I did manage to catch the Ross Kemp documentary, which airs after the show tonight, on iPlayer earlier to plug a little bit of a gap.

Sharon's reading glasses will be an anniversary highlight for sure.

I loved how pretty much the whole cast was there for the wedding (not sure I saw Kat though which was odd).

Block filming. Sometimes the actors just aren't around eith that these days. It's why Jean has disappeared too

That second scene between Grant and Bianca was a highlight. Loved Bianca holding Grant to account for his treatment of Tiffany and I thought Patsy pitched it perfectly considering the character has recently been held hostage for several weeks.

My money is on Ian or Peter being the one holding the locket but in walks Cindy Junior who reveals she's the one who attacked Cindy, leading to scenes that are reminiscent of the live episode for the 30th anniversary.

Fuming we can't watch the live episode early.

Just caught up on the documentary, I've heard about how ground-breaking the first gay kiss on the show was before but that's the first time I've ever seen the clip. All of that media scandal over a peck not even on the lips?! Wow, there is still much to be improved on in the world, but what a reminder of how far attitudes have come and I appreciate that representation is a lot more normalised now.

I didn’t clock Kat either in the episode. She’ll surely be around this week.

Bianca and Grant was an interaction people have waited for for nearly 26 years and was so well done. Nice to see some reflection about Tiffany and good to see Grant interacting with plenty of characters. His last stint was so isolated he didn’t even get scenes with Ronnie and Roxy.

Also good to see Pearl’s 10th birthday acknowledged and wonder if Albie might get a similar scene for his fifth.

All the signs seem to point to Peter being the attacker-but Cindy aiming the gun threw me slightly as I’m not sure she’d do that if it were him. Maybe it’s someone like Kathy or Lauren holding the locket?
