I stick up for this show a lot but that was one of the worst episodes I’ve ever seen. I won’t knock the new family yet because they need to have their obligatory OTT arrival.

But the Amy/Craig stuff is bizarre. It’s an icky plot to begin with but it isn’t even playing out in a coherent way and the scenes in today’s episode were poorly written, acted and plotted.

The two sisters were over-acted nonsense straight out of a Harry Enfield or Catherine Tate sketch show.

I love EastEnders but that was pants.

I have to agree about Nicola’s sisters, with her mum we’ve had hints and I think the difficult relationship and how they overcome will make her work but I’m already fed up of the sisters. Knowing Wadey everything will revolve around them now.

Im happy that Rob Kazinsky is back but we need Lacey back aswell with him.

Today’s episode was better. Though Nicola is carrying parts of this show at the moment. A brief unannounced return but nothing to phone home about.

Rose is definitely a character who could work and Jodie has potential but that Gemma is horrific and she’s giving Bea.

Laura Doddington is a fantastic actress, it's a shame she seems to always get paired with the shit ones (Suki and Eve being the exception). I don't like this new family at all, Gemma could grow but I'm still sceptical. My bet is they'll end up running the Vic.

I know we can’t tell from two episodes, but the sisters are both giving Wadey’s signature immediate Flanderisation. No nuance, just ham fisted “oh aren’t they fun” every scene. Maybe we’ll get the nuance, again we can’t necessarily write off anyone based on two episodes but if Bea is anything to go by I’m not sure Wadey can even do that.

They should bring back Shirley with George Trott, give him a storyline with Lexi where she doesn't realise who he is. They should just build up the existing families that they've decimated over the years or bring back characters we don't know much of from the past rather than giving us a family that wouldn't even make the cut on Hollyoaks.

It does feel like they’ve killed off too many characters who would have returned by now-Ronnie, Roxy, Abi, Steven, Lola, etc. and now they’re doing the same with Zoe who still hasn’t come back from her break yet so I’m to assume Tommy will return alone to announce she was eaten by one of Lynne’s puppies. Lynne then being too devastated to attend the funeral and nor can Little Mo or Belinda because it’s their turn to help with Lynne’s dog dramas
