Literally NO New Entries in the top 200??? Whaaaattt??

A load of Re-entries but I woulda assumed a couple of new entries in the lower half of the top 200. No Shawn Mendes or Katy is weird. Ik Katy has an uphill battle with how poorly ‘Woman’s World’ did, but I assumed this would still get to around 150 or something on debut… (with it falling out and potentially gaining in a few weeks)

Glad to see JADE making moves up with a Saturday update! With little to no playlist support I didn’t expect the S.A.D. Version to make an appeaeance. Hopefully word of mouth can get it in during the middle of the week.

Clean Bandit just snuck in at #180, with Shawn at #185!

Edit: Ah, Jade beat me to it

Looks like we're going to have another fantastic chart-topper :cheer: This is long deserved for Chase & Status!

I also must stan the fact that we may be getting the first back-to-back rapped #1s since 2020 ('Mood' followed by 'Lemonade' I believe).

Ahhhh! Sorry. That’ll teach me to do it on my phone at work

The more I listen to BACKBONE the more I love it, what an absolute banger

Absolutely here for C&S getting their first #1 with it!

 01 46 BACKBONE [PEAK]

 67 124 Baddadan

:re: 111 RE Gunfinger (Salute) [PEAK]

:re: 125 RE Disconnect

Looks like all C&S Top 10s as lead artist will soon have official chart peaks of #9, #5 or #1!

Interested to see if "BACKBONE" could get to #1. It had a smaller start than Charli/Billie on spotify, but is doing better on Apple Music and Amazon (already #20 there). Their youtube streams aren't very high either it seems.

Might be in for a Top 3 debut? Depending on how well it holds up in the coming days!

Also here's a little Amazon update with newer songs (some of which have climbed a bit recently):

#9. Bl3ss & CamrinWatsin - "Kisses (feat. bbyclose)"

#16. Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding - "Free"

#19. JADE - "Angel Of My Dreams"

#23. James Bay - "Up All Night (feat. The Lumineers & Noah Kahan)"

#30. Charli XCX & Billie Eillish - "Guess"

#32. Post Malone - "Guy For That (feat. Luke Combs)"

#44. Charli XCX - "Apple"

#55. Kylie Minogue - "My Oh My (feat. Bebe Rexha & Tove Lo)"

#70. Coldplay - "feelslikeimfallinginlove"

New peak for BIRDS OF A FEATHER on Apple Music #3 (+2), surpassing both Espresso and Please x3

BACKBONE #1 already, ugh.

Anyone else notice a whole bunch of capitulations for fairly established hits last week? Was just running through the Australian chart (although it seems a lot of this is consistent across different countries) and as soon as August 1st hit, there were huge drops for "Babydoll", "As It Was", "Fast Car", "Iris", "Snooze" etc, and most of all "Flowers", just losing 20% of its streams instantly and dropping straight out of the UK weekly chart from #93! Kinda crazy to think such a huge chunk of any current hit's streams can just be switched on and off like that.

'BACKBONE' at #1 again today with 512K streams :cheer:

'BIRDS OF A FEATHER' on 480K and 'Good Luck, Babe!' is on 470K today!

Some new Drizzy entries as well.... No appearance for 'Housekeeping Knows', Drake ha flopped

:ne: 64. It's Up (feat. Young Thug & 21 Savage)

:ne: 127. Blue Green Red

I mentioned this the other day. Some older hits were also affected “Sittin’ On the Dock of the Bay” and “Uptown Girl” bombing straight out from high positions in the UK too.

I looked at the Kworb data for Flowers and it seems to have been a world wide phenomenon. Crazy

Yeah, I find the global uniformity of it all one of the most interesting aspects. It's a fair argument to say that the US/UK/Can/Aus/NZ charts are more alike than ever before, but how much of it is due to global TikTok influence, and how much is a phantom streaming algorithm that's guiding listeners along, and for songs no one had tabs on for suspicious inflation? Local hitmakers just can't compete*

*Just to compound this, Chase & Status have soared into the top spot in the UK right now, they also popped up top 40 in Australia, having almost never appeared on any chart here whatsoever prior to this.

Good hold for “Backbone”. Relatively lacklustre numbers for “Birds Of A Feather” prior to a potential Olympics boost. Only 10k ahead of “Good Luck, Babe” mean the latter will be well ahead of it officially going into the Monday mids.

I want Chappel to reach #1, it does seem like it could be a four person race right now; all within 40K streams.

Oh wait actually forgot that the original GUESS without will probably have at least 50K streams from people listening to BRAT (deluxe) all the way through/album listeners.. so probably not actually; as it’s true streams will be +50K I reckon each day.

I would've thought Chase and Status have an easy Number 1 this week.

I guess we'll know for sure with the first set of mids

oh didn't realise Guess had gone 1-4, quite a drop in streams, just 436K today

Fri+Sat:

1 Chase & Status/Stormzy 1172K

2 Birds of a feather 1004K

3 Chappell 978K

4 Guess 924K
