Yes, so for example for 'The Loco-motion to be certified Silver, it has to achieve 200k sales since 1994 (and I think this could happen in the near future). Something like 'I Should Be So Lucky' already achieved a Gold certification in the 80s, so it will need to achieve 600k sales since 1994 in order to be certified Platinum.

Made this prediction list for new certifications at the start of the year and four have them have been correct.

'All the Lovers' was averaging 349 chart sales between February 2017 and July 2019 but is likely doing better now. If its average since July 2019 was 400 chart sales, it would be on 566k now; if its average was 500 chart sales, it would be on 597k. I imagine it lies somewhere in the middle, so its total would stand at 581k today.

Thanks for the info and explanation. I had no idea that pre-1994 releases had been screwed over by the BPI. What a shame that the eligible certifications for release like The Loco-Motion and Wouldn’t Change A Thing weren't claimed by PWL prior to the change in the rules.

Yeah I'm not sure why 'The Loco-motion' and 'Wouldn't Change a Thing' were overlooked when even 'Never Too Late' was certified Silver despite not actually selling enough (I know it was based on shipments, but still it seems odd it received a certification over the other two).

Would love it go platinum asap as its just a huge fave from Kylie for me and its the least it deserves,

At least with streaming, certs are likely for so many more tracks, even the pre 1994 ones, despite the daft rules.

Streaming has made up for the collapse of the sales market, especially 2000-2004 when CD single sales evaporated fast and downloads weren’t included fully. There were all sorts of rules and regs in force then.

All the lovers regularly gets played after I choose to play anything pop on Apple Music along with Material Girl & New Rules.

Sold 376k in the 80s which brings its total to 576k to date!

'Spinning Around jumps 76-27 on TV airplay! I believe the chart began in 2003 so this marks its

first time in the Top 40.

With so little music channels now, the TV airplay chart is full of old songs. I'm guessing one of the channels had a "best of year 2000" style programme as other songs from that year have also experienced big boosts ('Pure Shores', 'Groovejet', 'Lady (Hear Me Tonight)').

Will Better the Devil You Know be the next pre 94 song to get a silver certification? I think it was on 87,000 sales in 2019 and was averaging 15,000 sales a year, which would put it on 177,000 sales by now, the tour might have increased the average this year, so could be on 180,000 by now.

All just a guessing game though.

It already has a Silver certification from 1990 so will have to wait until it sells 400k post 1994 when it will be certified Gold.
