As a huge fan of Like a prayer and very happy to see it getting a new lease of life in 2024 do others feel the same.

Do you think its her best single or not?

My favourite is 'Frozen' but it's definitely top tier Madonna, her best 80s song for me :wub:

Like a prayer is her best for me but Frozen is a great single aswell.

It’s a 10/10 track but still probably not in my Top 5 Madonna songs. Whilst I do think it is many people’s favourite Madonna song, I think there’s also a lot of people that feel similar to me. It’s a song that everyone loves which is why it always averages out as the top Madonna song on various rates and lists.

It's an incredible song, though I prefer the Immaculate Collection version.

However, Vogue and Ray of Light rank above it as well as some others.

I could be wrong when i say this, i think like a prayer is her most liked song among casual fans and a song that may also be liked be people who arent really fans, among the fans its probably a top 5 for many but they prefer others, i would class myself as a casual fan.

I like it but she has many better songs for me, it's honestly about mid-table.

I love LAP and do see it as Madonna’s universally most loved song! It just isnt mine!

Im old enough to remember when it was originally released and i did like it but equally i wasnt hugely into it, my sister was a big madonna fan where i wasnt, it was really only years later i really got into the song and was like how did i not love this when it was released..

 

For me, absolutely not. I like it, I appreciate it, but it's wouldn't be in my top 50 M songs.

 

 

It's not my favourite but I think it is her best song at the same time.

 

I prefer Papa don't preach, Vogue, Ray of light, Drowned world and Express yourself over it I think.

Back when the album was released i preferred express yourself but now listening to them i dont know why, i do like express yourself but like a prayer is in another league.

Nice to see its remained top 40 again this week.

Like a Prayer is Madonnas peak of excellence.

It’s not one of my favourites. I prefer vogue, frozen, holiday, material girl and papa don’t preach to name a few. It was certainly a change of sound and had more of an edge compared to her earlier material though.
