All votes must be submitted by 23:59pm (BST) Tuesday 10th September.
Any deadline extensions will be announced here.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) is the only evening I could join a listenthrough but happy for it to go ahead whenever suits most ^_^
I’d be down for tomorrow or Friday
this is racism!!! I get out of the semi of death only to land in the DEATH SLOT??? I feel bullied by random.org

I guess the two nations who were delegated the death slot in the semis and then qualified felt bullied too...

I don't think there is such a thing as the death slot anymore as I've seen more often than not the second track get through each time for a while now.

Death slot only really applies to actual Eurovision as everyone has their own way of listening to this so the running order doesn't actually matter really (at least imo) - I listen in order the first time and short list any standouts then I go back, shuffle the short list and order from there.

In saying that, I always seem to be towards the end :lol:

Semi Final 2 isn't as poppy as I thought, however it definitely made me feel more in my zone :)

I have to echo the comments in the results thread that Herbilore's unique take on this contest really does add much value to an otherwise systematic and somewhat predictive contest (not necessarily in terms of which nations qualify, but in terms of genre and style). A general observation over a long time has taught me that pop entries with male vocals can be more risky than sending female ones, I've missed out a few times due to this (Schwarz, ABDA, Skindred) but sometimes you get lucky with semi placement and what the rest of the semi has to offer (so I managed to qualify with entries from Les Rythmes Digitales, Samuel Jack and recently Dreamwake).

There's no formula to success, but some have nailed it by finding certain trends that do well at certain times. Some take risks, others are just cheap. That's just what BJSC is really.

Thanks Awardinary. More than anything I am personally enjoying discovering new songs I wouldn't normally have heard :) (and I've definitely gravitated towards a couple of nations, although sadly one of them seems to be on a non-qualifying streak as well!)

I have thought about sending something familiar just to get myself through, but don't think that'd be true to Herbilore!

Reminds me of a thread I made a few years back now;

I think sticking to your own principles is always best and shows a sense of character and personal integrity to the spirit of the competition.

maybe I should go back to my 2017-2018 male vocal alternative era :thinking:
