Posted September 25, 2024Sep 25 Hey all, I've (hopefully) finally managed to find a website that allows me to create a quiz for free. Thanks to everyone who helped and especially Mango who found the website in the first place. Onto the quiz: This is a very basic quiz of 12 questions that are very difficult/impossible to know the answer to. The person who gets the closest answer wins. Ideally I would have used a countdown timer of 20 seconds to ensure that there is no Googling of answers but I don't think I'll be able to do that so I'll trust that hopefully nobody will cheat (please!). The scoring will work in that the person closest to the answer gets 10 points, then 9 and so on down to nothing (so only the top 10 answerers on a given question will get any points). I'm hoping the questions are quite self explanatory but if there are any issues then please feel free to PM me or ask away in the thread. The quiz will close on Saturday 28th September at 20:00 so you have three days to get your answers in. Q4) To the nearest million, how many copies has the album ABBA Gold: Greatest Hits sold in the UK? Q5) In what year did The Weeknd get his first charting single in the UK as lead artist? Q6) How many number 1 singles have there ever been in the UK? Q7) Kings and Queens by Ava Max and Waking Up In Vegas by Katy Perry both peaked at the same chart position in the UK. What position was it? Q8) Taylor Swift is currently on tour. How many tour dates does the 'Eras Tour' have altogether? Q9) Including Greatest Hits albums (but not solo albums) how many albums have The Wanted, JLS and One Direction released combined? Q10) How many years were there between The Beatles first charting single and their most recent chart hit? Q11) How many top 40 singles (including features) has Future appeared on? Q12) Final question, how many of these questions do you think you will get the correct answer to? I really hope this works and apologies again for the delay. September 25, 2024Sep 25 I've entered and just did it quickfire, first thing that came to me, but there wasn't anywhere to put my name I don't think. September 25, 2024Sep 25 Entered. Nice questions! There's about 3 I think I might have got spot on, but I'm hoping I'll get lucky with another couple too. I'm reasonably confident about Q6 because I actually read that just the other day :D
September 25, 2024Sep 25 If people need to PM their answers anyway I don’t know if it would be better to just list the questions in this thread? Otherwise people are going to need to screenshot or write down the questions so they can then write the answers in a PM.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing - but doing that might encourage people to spend more time and google? It's Dan's game though so his call!
September 25, 2024Sep 25 Author Yes, I guess now that the answers are being PMed to me anyway it makes sense for them to be in the thread. I will edit the first post to add the questions. Apologies - I think I have overcomplicated the quiz a bit! Thanks for all your entries so far though.

A really quickfire version of this, like Gooddelta has done anyway (and I'm going to do too) would be great fun! I'm just going to look at each question for 10 seconds and write down a number that comes to mind. Expect some terrible guesses!

September 25, 2024Sep 25 I entered, really enjoyed that had to think carefully and make some guesstimations plus some complete random ones. One of the questions I got in a pub quiz last week (well I didn't get it then but I remembered the answer this time lol) :lol:
September 25, 2024Sep 25 The only one I'm nailed on certain on is the Katy/Ava one, because I can for some reason remember all of Katy's peaks from 2008-2014. And maybe the ages one because I'm quite good at remembering popstar ages, might be a year out with Kylie but definitely do remember Beyoncé and Gaga as I looked them up recently. Very good quiz idea and a lot of luck required, unless you have insane knowledge about all of these areas.
