It was only the Extension vinyl separated….the streaming points and digital sales still go to Tension. Though, those 3000 or so vinyl sales would have been useful!!!

I know a lot of it was to do with bad timing but it's frustrating,/,disappointing that the album that delivered her biggest hit in over a decade and a further top 20 hit which is still a massive result for kylie is her 2nd lowest selling album of her career when really I feel there was huge potential to possibly be ahead of albums such as Disco, Golden, Christmas and a million percent Kmo.

At least its highly likely to outsell KMO.

^^ I think it’s more to do with the market changes and how hit singles don’t produce hit albums (unless you have 4-5 huge singles from an album that inflate sales).

It’ll go Gold and that’s a massive achievement - it’s feels like most new albums struggle to pass silver nowadays.

The sales figure update has fueled me to get Tension on repeat on Spotify - after hammering the album so much when it was released I haven’t returned to it massively (even though I love the album).

I'm still of the cd age as I just prefer it so I don't stream it when really I should as like most kylie albums I play it a lot.

What's with the never-ending weird obsession hating on Kiss Me Once lol? Fair enough if the album's not to your tastes, but looking back on posts from around the time of its release it seems a lot of you that are obsessed with Kylie's commercial performance decided you didn't like the album and wouldn't go back to it simply because of that and not at all because of the quality of the music itself.

Regardless, Tension's an album of Kylie's I haven't gone back to at all since it was released but I hope the sales keep coming. But I'm away to stream Kiss Me Once ag5vk5Y.gif

2nd lowest selling album of her career

Tension is actually her third lowest - it's ahead of both Let's Get to It and Impossible Princess!

This could be the order:

01 - 1988 - #01 - Kylie

02 - 2001 - #01 - Fever

03 - 1989 - #01 - Enjoy Yourself

04 - 2000 - #02 - Light Years

05 - 2007 - #04 - X

06 - 2003 - #06 - Body Language

07 - 2010 - #01 - Aphrodite

08 - 1990 - #09 - Rhythm of Love

09 - 2020 - #01 - Disco

10 - 2015 - #12 - Kylie Christmas

11 - 2018 - #01 - Golden

12 - 1994 - #04 - Kylie Minogue

13 - 2014 - #02 - Kiss Me Once

14 - 2023 - #01 - Tension

15 - 1998 - #05 - Impossible Princess

16 - 1991 - #15 - Let's Get to It

Impossible Princess and Let's Get to It totals could be close together, but I'm assuming Impossible Princess would be ahead. Last we knew about Let's Get to It was 70,000 in April 2010, and we have a more recent 73,000 total for Impossible Princess in November 2022.

Golden is likely not far behind Kylie Christmas at the moment, but even if Golden overtakes it before November, Kylie Christmas will of course go ahead again - and from that point onwards Golden is unlikely to ever be able to overtake Kylie Christmas again.

I've said it before, but the lack of tour affects greatly on the album sales today - everyone on tour always get a sales/streaming spike and considering that, Kylie's refusal to tour Europe and UK in broader scale is such a bizarre decision (and even moreso considering she is doing one-off performances here and there).

^ she needs to tick off wembley stadium !!

KMO is one of my Top 3 albums of Kylie’s - I agree to an extent though, KMO wasn’t universally disliked when it was released and seemed to become a thing after it faltered.

I’ve never understood the level of hate it gets, it’s not like it’s wildly different from her other music - it’s an inoffensive pop/dance album with some absolute gems on it and the KMO tour was brilliant too.

The same with IWGC - the video and song gets rinsed constantly, it’s not her best but certainly not as horrific as I read about everywhere.

This - with promo opportunities dwindling and everything being social media and TikTok led now a tour can and does do wonders for sales, even if it doesn’t return an album into the upper reaches of the charts it certainly gives it a decent boost.

Hopefully a proper EU tour will happen next year.

Amazon Pink Vinyl not available for sale now…doesn’t say sold out though so maybe there’s still copies at overseas Amazon hubs.

I don't think that's the case at all. KMO has never been highly rated in the Kylie community, I think the main reason for that is because it came after Aphrodite which was a much stronger album.

My issue with X is it was trying too hard to be edgy at the expense of the material. The only decent song was Into the blue for me the album was a real let down.

X is another album which isn't rated highly amongst the fanbase and on here, and it's one of her biggest selling albums so I wouldn't say that your reasoning applies.

^^ BMG obviously clearing out their cupboards, they’ve done this with each Kylie release - the signed deluxe was also available too, few extra sales for Tension is always a positive.

Getting ready to restock the shelves??

Has she been signing some new re-issues ????

Maybe pre orders up on 23rd August.....

Getting ready to restock the shelves??

Maybe but BMG always do this (They done it with the Disco 7” vinyl etc.,) - I think they have a stock take and then returned items, cancelled orders etc go back out for sale.
