But I'm sure Perrie said on Graham Norton that the album is finished and has a name and she even talked about one of the songs on it ('Heartbeat'). So if an album is ready then surely they'll release it no matter how poorly the singles have performed, no?

There's been tons of albums in pop history which have been completed and never saw the light of day in the end - Amelia Lily's for instance, which I think seems a fair comparison.

I’d love if Feelslikeimfallinginlove and We Pray switched places

I’ve a feeling both will re peak but only by a couple of spots by Friday!

Am I only person who likes Feels Like I’m Falling in Love? Haha x

I like it

I think it's quite good, definitely not as egregiously bad as some on here have been making out of late !

I'm not sure that's a totally fair comparison because back then it would have cost a lot more to promote an album and produce the physicals. In this day and age, if it came to it then potentially they could just not bother with spending money on physicals and just throw it out on streaming sites? I'm not saying they'll do that (and admittedly there's not much precedent for it) but they wouldn't have had that option back in the day, it was physicals or nothing.

Thought that Kelly Marie had re-entered the spotify chart for a moment there.

Perrie should have just done one single then the album. 90% of the time if you’re doing physicals 1st week it’s a sign you know it’s going to struggle. Not a fan of doing that.
Sydney Christmas from BGT only charts her album at 44 this week. I see someone on DS says it'll be the No.1 album this Christmas. She has an ITv special in Dec and the Royal Variety will shift a few CD's.
I think they are going for a long tail with her, hoping that things pick up as the months progress with more promotional spots.

Let's clarify some points:

- The Beatles have 15 albums #1 according to updated list:

- Coldplay will have 10th #1 since this Friday (yes, for sure :))

Per reddit many thought you has to preorder the album

In order to get concert tickets for wembley

So guess a big big portion of their sales happened like that

There was no purchase necessary but written in the tiniest print that no one could see

Reminds of US album sales a few years back when the ones like Bon Jovi would get @1

Cos they gave the album for free when buying tour tix

Didn't Amelia Lilly actually have 2 albums that were recorded and fully completed and ready to go and then cancelled?

Just realised Ed is only down to #9 in albums as expected so the album is gonna chart forever on fake streams

What are fake streams?

I think he means genuine streams of individual tracks leading to what could be seen as fake album sales because they have nothing to do with the album itself.

Idk if yall have similar things, but in the US we have sweepstakes where they put a code inside the packaging of a product and you can enter it online and if youre lucky win a prize, and by law they have to give you an option to get the code without purchase. But they rely on most people not knowing that option exists, even though it usually appears in bold at the top of the fine print. Last year I got hundreds of dollars of free groceries, and I wasn't even lucky or anything, anyone else could've done it too if they just read all the details. But they made tons of money on the whole thing because most people thought they had to spend thousands at the store to get as much as I got.

Yeh they are hugely consistent with album sales - dont think bands like The Rolling Stones for example were still doing 100k plus in say 1990?

I think everyone knows how big they are but expected numbers similar or slightly lower to Music of the Spheres.
