Presumably a lot of people put Bublé's album on to listen to in full at family gatherings etc as it's an easy choice, so I'm guessing it should be ok albeit on lower sales than last year.

Also, Holly Jolly Christmas is 9th on the list. I'm not sure why they swapped them over and put It's Beginning To Look...so far down this year.

Pogues are looking to do well, considering it's not in the top 20 of the main playlist so more people are actively searching for it.

I'm here for the Christmas songs doing so much worse than last year so far though, I do completely get in 2020 why Christmas started in November suddenly. It was a horrendous year and people wanted to wash it away as quickly as possible and indulge in some nostalgia. But I really didn't expect that to become the norm, I thought it was a one-year effect but brands, retailers and the media have really played into it since and even supermarkets are now playing Christmas music in early November. I remember when I worked in Asda in the 00s, we'd get a few played from early December and they wouldn't go into full rotation until a week or two before Christmas.

That's So True has a good shot of being in the Christmas week top 10 if it's still growing.

Think they've moved Perry Como's version of It's Beginning into the top 10 in Buble's place

Yes Spotify have swapped Perry Como and Bublé I believe.

And although the Pogues are only #22 on the main Christmas playlist, I think that’s up from about #70 last year so a big improvement

UK Amazon Music

#15. (+3) Disease

#4 without songs on ACR

For me it’s always been like that. I worked in dunnes in the mid noughties and there was a Christmas cd on from once the Halloween decor came down!

Unfort for me it also included the Westlife Xmas no1 which I hate

With regards to Perry Comos version of IBTLALC didn’t realise it only peaked at 47 in 2007, and his biggest hit is ‘Magic Moments’ which is ubiquitous with the Quality Street ads from the 90s, was no1 for like 8 weeks!!

The Pogues defying the trend of Christmas songs starting slower this year *.* (I imagine everything will fall into its usual pattern in December anyway though).

I had noticed the Spotify resurgences of 'labour' and 'TV' in the last few days but did not make the connection that they were because of the election eep. Does look to have been a pretty short lived revival for both anyway, 'TV' is already back out of the top 200 and 'labour' has dropped 48-75 today.

Here they come...

Apple:

#38 Wham!

#46 Mariah

#59 Shaky

#67 Pogues

#102 Underneath the Tree

#121 Step into Christmas

#152 One More Sleep

Also a new entry for the new BL3SS x CamrinWatsin at #159

Kelly top 5 *.* (Obvz won't stay that way and I know she won't but I really hope she can (finally) get top 10 this year :')

5th highest on Apple and 7th on Spotify - This year seems like a very good chance to get top 10.

Apple Sunday Update:

#26 Wham! - Last Christmas

#34 Mariah Carey - All I Want for Christmas is You

#40 Shakin' Stevens - Merry Christmas Everyone

#43 The Pogues feat. Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale of New York

#49 Kelly Clarkson - Underneath the Tree

#60 Elton John - Step into Christmas

#65 Leona Lewis - One More Sleep

#82 Band Aid - Do They Know It's Christmas?

#83 Andy Williams - It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

#118 Ariana Grande - Santa Tell Me

#200 Ed Sheeran & Elton John - Merry Christmas

I think Kelly started out fairly high in the pecking order last year as well and then slipped back closer to Christmas - although iirc Ariana also did/does the same thing every year for some time and she did eventually get a top 10 peak so Kelly still could too.

Billie Eilish Apple Music Update:

3. "BIRDS OF A FEATHER"

14. "WILDFLOWER"

58. "CHIHIRO"

61. "LUNCH"

113. "OCEAN EYES"

137. "THE GREATEST"

Seems to have gotten quite a nice boost from the Grammy noms as well as going viral with "TV" + a speech during her tour due to the US election results. Hope the boost will help get "WILDFLOWER" into the top 10 in this week's chart!

last year Kelly started the same and I was like top 10 for sure this year but alas then it dropped during December...

Shocked to see One More Sleep so high already, that's not usually one of the Christmas frontrunners this early IIRC. :o I'm guessing it has good playlisting this year?

Definitely would love Underneath the Tree to go top 10 this year! It never gets old.

Yeah, the album had a big boost everywhere and the songs too.

2 (+1) "BIRDS OF A FEATHER"

12 (+2) "WILDFLOWER"

53 (+5) "CHIHIRO"

57 (+4) "LUNCH"

85 (+48) "OCEAN EYES"

88 (+49) "THE GREATEST"

THE GREATEST would be an amazing 4th single after WILDFLOWER, its already doing great on its own too.

Depends on what your listening on, Apple has most british songs placed alot more favourably than Spotify which is very American centric which is why certain songs do so well in the charts each december that never did well before.

Can someone explain what's happened regarding Michael Buble?

His songs have been massively moved down the 'Christmas Hits' playlist on Spotify.

Overall Christmas songs are doing worse, but the rest of the chart being stronger than last year is exaggerating that. #200 last year did 60k, whereas this year its at 70k
