I think he got a Christmas #1 tattoo and is encouraging people to buy the vinyl a lot(not released until next week) so not really sure he understands how it works

Well that was a bit premature  I hope he's left room to change the 1 to a 2!

The tattoo I believe says “Christmas no1 2024 is…” with space to fill in at the end of the week lol

Yeah that's what I read too

But there are already far better Christmas songs out there. Wham’s last Christmas is very overrated and not the best Christmas song by a long shot and the fact it looks like being Christmas no1 again this year just reflects the sad state of the singles chart.

Obviously the vast majotity for 40 yrs now disagrees with you

Oh my fight for xmas album #1 with… 4K :/ thats really sad

Why nobody buys cds as xmas presents anymore?

Not really the brat remixes change a verse, a nonsense christmas basically rewrites the whole song

Guess and Girl, So Confusing mainly changed just a verse - the others were all fairly different from the originals. But still just remixes really.

I don't think that question even needs to be answered

Fair enough didn't really like the remix version, but was obsessed with the original Brat so only really payed attention to the ones you mentioned

Maybe the answer is the OCC being the OCC then

Is this year on track to have the lowest selling Christmas #1 album? And same for the singles?
Even though this week is a low week next week is the perfect dates. Not one small Christmas Day. When you add in 40th anniversary etc I think it’ll be Last Christmas biggest week for a long time. Might hit 250k+ SCR maybe
I'm very happy to see Tom Grennan at 2. Hopefully the start of pop stars realising the Christmas song is alive again

The start? I mean, there was Jess Glynne and Sam Rider very much in the same boat before this.

It’s hardly a declaration for it being one of the best Christmas tracks but clearly it’s popular and that will be due to media, airplay factors etc which have a heavy influence on the chart positions!

Surprised E17 are not doing better this year with Stay Another Day - it’s had the 30th anniversary treatment, 2 x 7” vinyl releases, remastered for 2024, website exclusive download bundle and a ton of TV/Radio promo from Tony.

Are ballads on playlists, noticed Christmas ballads don't really do that well anymore, seems to be more upbeat Christmas songs
