Chart sales were embarrassingly low when Ariana was #1 - six weeks number one and it didn’t even make the year end and then only barely made the 2021 one despite the cut off being insanely low

It was because it was the year of COVID. People listened to music a lot less that year for some reason.

No one commuting to work is the reason and parties not being possible

2x platinum album but relatively few certificated songs. Maybe we'll see Playing God get something in the next few months

Funny how some enormously popular songs are just not on one's radar. Seeing Naive by The Kooks certified 6 times Platinum made me play it just now to hear if I actually recognised it without realising I did but nope. I'm wondering if this is the most BPI certified song I've never heard of before today? Usually, even if I've no interest in a song that is multi platinum certified, I'll still be familiar with it subconsciously as it will be somewhat ubiquitous regardless but I can't say that for this song. Possibly a generational thing as I'm more a 20th century popular music afficionado!

P..S. it actually sounds pleasant on first listen! 😊

I think that's the third Ultraviolence track certified platinum now after 'West Coast' and the title track. This era has aged so well for me. <3

Happy (and surprised) to see Cough Syrup and Tennessee Orange get certifications, they never charted and didn’t think they were that popular with British audiences.

Helium I believe is now the 6th song from the Fifty Shades trilogy soundtrack to reach a gold certification.

Always great to see songs released during the low sales peak of the 00s (Survivor, New Shoes, Foundations) have great longevity.
