Messy will probably lose out from today’s data being estimated

Edited by Maestro

I don't understand why the OCC can't roll Thursday's streams over to next weeks charts rather than estimating them.

Would harm new releases on Friday as they would have one less day of sales. I don't get why they don't wait until the weekend to publish the charts, especially since Radio 1 likely want a Sunday charts show again to compete with Big Top 40.

I don't see why they'd be that bothered - the chart as it is gets better ratings than the Big Top 40, the last I heard!

Messy will probably lose out from today’s data being estimated

I may be getting this entirely wrong, but wouldn't it work in Messy's favour if it's shown a more positive trajectory over the last few days?

That’s a fair point, I’m not sure whether trajectory is included in the algorithm (in which case Messy could benefit) or if it’s just an average of the rest of the week in which case it would lose out.

It’s impossible to know really without knowing what the algorithm is, but even if it’s based on trajectory it’s not guaranteed to benefit Messy compared to actual streams so it’s still more likely it loses out overall imo.

Bed chem sold 1400 vinyl’s and Apt was one place below on the physical chart and someone said they were sent out Wednesday? So wouldn’t have counted by last Wednesdays update but would have in final sales. So if we estimate 1000 then Messy gained 1200 last week between Wednesday update and final sales. The week before it gained 1400. This week needs 1.1k and is stronger than both those two weeks. So technically the estimate should be bigger than the last two weeks but it’s all guesswork

It's been confirmed that it's not an average of the week, it's all about "trends through the week". Guessing Messy will benefit if it's been consistently been increasing

'Limitless' seems to be the Central Cee song pushed from the album release tomorrow, so we may be spared of him & Dave going to #1.

The Dave collab ('CRG') is #1 on NMF UK. 'Limitless' is on there too but only track 16 (he also has a third song at track 33, the collab with Lil Durk).

Not sure why they didn't put 'CRG' on the Aus/NZ NMF, 'Sprinter' was a big hit there!

edit: also just checked and 'CRG' was instantly added as song 5 on Hot Hits UK as well. I won't say it's a surefire #1 but I think it has a decent chance.

The playlisting is very very, very good indeed... and also the song sound massive I must say, and the sales are low these days, so I would say yes.

Tyla "PUSH 2 START" moved up to #8 on HHUK *_*

Also FKA Twigs on NMF with "Childlike Things". It features Kim Kardashian's daughter North West. Wouldn't be surprised if the song managed to chart if it's good! Although was not expecting that

Bruno & Sexyy Red releasing a music video with Lady Gaga & Rosé and the song sounds catchy.

Might see 2 new entries top 10 with Central Cee & Bruno.

I think they should make the streaming tracking week Thurs-Wed, too. New releases won't be hindered too much I don't think. Especially the big new releases. Keep everything else Friday-Thursday but streaming data should be Thurs-Wed, imo.
