I actually don’t think it’s that bad, but Zahira of all UK queens is sending me. I wonder if they’re thinking about a UK All Strs and don’t want to use up all the best ones here or nobody wants to do it :lol:

 

Gawdland is a bit random for Thai rep too out of all the seasons but she was kind of pulled on her season, as was Serena, so I’ll be interested to see them. With Fontana she is the absolute top choice for Sweden aside from Vanity who obviously did GAS already, so they did well there, and Melinda is pretty much the best choice they could have got for Canada.

 

I do like thst this could go either way for most queens, so that’s good. I feel like with vTw2 you could pretty much call it. I’d be surprised at Fontana, Melinda and Kate not being in the final, but even then Fontana was abysmal at Snatch Game and I could see Melinda faltering with design or something and Kate at maybe performance or the dance thing from UKvTW2. Serena gives me wins for talent and girl group and bottom everything else :lol:

I honestly think crowning Tia was harmful for the franchise. Not because she shouldn't have won (I'll let others be the judge of that, I love her) but if you're from the UK, you're probably thinking there's no way they'll crown another UK queen. But, if you're not from the UK, you're probably thinking ...well, look what happened to Marina, they'll never crown me.

 

That being said, I'm surprised more of the non-Ru girls wouldn't just be happy for the exposure.

I don’t think GAS helped either, it feels like you have to be a Ru girl previously to be favoured. Marina did have a huge boost but then she was a huge name in drag at home anyway. I suppose for a random Belgique girl or something, why would they want the financial pressure of going back on Drag Race to probably not be appreciated and have no chance of winning the crown :lol:

I have to agree. The last UK vs the World pretty much showed you can be the best at drag and have a unique POV and be as good at all the skills it tests on in your native language, but that doesn't matter as much as being able to speak English like a native.

 

I also don't get the impression Kate Butch wants to win so it would be quite funny if she ended up winning by default!

And yep agreed, Marina’s SG I don’t even think was thaaat bad but it’s always going to be very very difficult for a non native speaker to be able to do a Snatch Game. Speaking of I dread to imagine the Snatch Game with this cast, Gawdland and Melinda are the only ones who actually did ok at it first time round (no I’m not including Kate, I will go to the grave hating that Kate Bush Snatch Game), but granted some of these have never even done it. Fontana is lowkey one of the worst Snatch Games I’ve seen avoid the bottom oop

I did a mockup of a quick prediction of what I’d predict based on initial cast, assuming the same challenges as UKvTW2 which it wouldn’t be but still.

 

Talent: Minty vs Fontana, Dovima elim

Ball: Minty vs Sminty, Zahirah elim

Ads: Kate vs Melinda, Naomy elim

Snatch: Kate vs Melinda, Serena elim

Rusical: Fontana vs Gawdland, Sminty elim

Dance: Minty vs Fontana, Mariah elim

Roast: Kate vs Melinda, Gawdland elim

 

I see Kate and Melinda as the Hannah and Tia, Fontana and Minty as the lesser scale LGD and Marina. Minty is going to destroy fashion and performance, Kate and Melinda have comedy in the bag, I could see Mariah having kind of a Scarlet Envy run where she just by default does fine and ends up in the top a couple of times but doesn’t absolutely excel or make much of an impression. I don’t hate this cast tbh it just feels not thst balanced. I actually think Melinda wins tbh

Yes, Melinda is the obvious winner out of this cast for me. I think it's a mistake for Zahirah to go back this soon, as for Sminty, I wish her the best but this also feels like a move of desperation with everything she's been saying online about not being able to get gigs and her post-Drag Race career not going how she expected.

 

Dovima is an unhinged pick but I feel like she might pick up loads of fans if she can speak English with a 'sexy accent' like LGD does.

Spillers are less convinced Dovima is on, hunt is on for the fabled secret 11th queen :lol:
