January 26Jan 26 So most people still voted for at least one DNQ despite the rather limited pool - only 7 people in semi 1 and 5 in semi 2 who got a full house (and 3/5 of those in semi 2 were countries who DNQed themselves so had an even smaller pool). Ooop at Terra Avium being only one point off, but a bigger gap in semi 1 (41 points seems like a surprisingly healthy cutoff point there especially with 2 non-voters).
January 26Jan 26 Also ironically loving it does sound like they’re chanting Drugs insteadmaybe that should have been left to the end of the results so we could see it in the coke bag
January 26Jan 26 Love to see all my votes making it + Otha q’ing. Thanks everyone <3  I haven’t listened to all semi 2 songs yet, but it’s Cheiron’s to lose in all honesty…especially since it’s only one of the few pop entries that managed to Q!!!
January 26Jan 26 Have I been completely blind to pop struggling to qualify? It still seems as varied as when I joined
January 26Jan 26 Ooh all of my votes made it through! However, Terra Avium would've got 7 points from me if I was in SF2 so boo at that loss :'(Â thanks for a great results presentation Kath x
January 26Jan 26 Wooooo 2025 off to a good start for Mothertopia!  Absolutely devastated for ‘like a taxi (oh well)’ though! That was my 12!
January 26Jan 26 shame about Terra, I love seeing shoegaze in the contest but I was worried it would be a bit too subtle to reach through. Have I been completely blind to pop struggling to qualify? It still seems as varied as when I joined I see loads of pop in the final, probably about half of it is pop. Granted, that's lots of different styles of pop that some here would not call as such, but that's only a good thing, we love diversity here.
January 26Jan 26 Nice to see I got semi votes from people who'd never voted for me in SF's before - thanks to all 5 people who gave my song votes :)Â Congrats to all the qualifiers (even if that does include what I'd consider one of the worst songs I've ever heard)
January 26Jan 26 my would-have-been votes x 12 Q 10 Q 8 Q 7 Q 6 Q 5 Conoria 4 Q 3 Utopia 2 IKR Dakoteh 1 Q

January 26Jan 26 I think that's a stretch Iz...I can count about 10 out of 42!!! Yeah I just finished listen through of SF2 qualifiers. I’d even say 10 is a push!
January 26Jan 26 Ohoho, all the songs I voted for in SF2 qualified! Exciting..! Â Bummer that Ring Pop didn't make it, but I also wasn't sure how it'd go. Thanks to those who did vote for it, tho - I'm glad you enjoyed it!
January 27Jan 27 There were hardly any pop songs in semi 2 and out of those some ended up DNQing soooo  I can't comment on semi one though as I've not listened to it yet but I'm hopeful there's more pop there
January 27Jan 27 Only lost one vote and I qualified so that’s a success! I really thought Conoria would be a qualifier so I’m shocked at that, and that it wasn’t all that close to #20 either. Honki Ponki is also brilliant!!! I was shocked at all the DNQ predictions.

January 27Jan 27 Author Ooh all of my votes made it through! However, Terra Avium would've got 7 points from me if I was in SF2 so boo at that loss :'( thanks for a great results presentation Kath x Thanks for the semi results hosting Kath! :brat: thanks for hosting julia x Thank-you 💚 every time we host the site goes down in the worst time  Thanks for leaving Spodic Empire until the end. :manson: Blame random.org xcx
January 27Jan 27 fashionably late again! Thanks for the hosting Kath, and all the hard work involved   Thanks  to all those voting for Trucks (esp the 12 from Lookylion :yahoo: ), I genuinely love it, and at least it got loads of mentions so that means it's memorable :cheer: I think Buzzjack prob lacks the 5 to 10-year-old target audience  My greatniece has been rightly converted by me to love Trucks and APT*, so we singalong together. 25 years from now she'll be playing 'em for her kids  The video is just fabulous.  Plus, I have always said if you can predict what a Singerpurean entry is going to sound like, that's when I need to try harder! :)  (*) I actually only had to play them once... 12 points: Q 10 points: Q 8 points: Q 7 points: Q 6 points: Q 5 points: Q 4 points: Q 3 points: Q 2 points: Q 1 point: Q Re: pop on a low ebb, I will always vote for great tracks, pop or otherwise, it's not a dirty word. Maybe it's that a lot of pop acts have been used up already or charted (cos they are good) and the current trend for navel-gazing "It's all about me being unhappy and you're to blame" ballads at the top of the charts has put the kibosh on genuinely joyous pop for the moment (APT apart, or is that APT apapartaypart), dance music excepted?
