What are we thinking?

Album of the year and Artist of the year noms are a given surely? Also best Pop act I can imagine.

Surely she’ll get a performance slot also? If she does, not sure how she’ll top last year but I’m sure it’ll be epic! Can’t see it being anything other than Plastic Box or Church tbh.

Interestingly, the president of her label has been announced as the chair of the 2026 BRITs Committee which can only bode well:

I'm lost for words THE BUDGET!!!! That was absolutely incredible! I don't know what I was expecting but that was EVERYTHING!

  • Pop Act is fan voted right? I assume we have that in the bag for her again??

Sam Fender, Olivia Dean, Lily Allen, Dave, The Last Dinner Party, Pulp, and Florence + the Machine are all more likely to get AOTY before JADE, I think?

(We don't speak of Ed Sheeran)

Oh yeah I think you're right. drama And there's only 5 nominees! It's going to be brutal omg.

I just hope she can win something.

Olivia Dean is probably going to win everything JADE could be nominated for drama

Never say never. Brit album of the year can be a little bit unpredictable. I don't want to get my hopes high, but I'm not ruling out a win for her (ie not just pop act).

I think her album was a fair bit more well received than Florence's. I'm hoping she can snag her spot. Even though Florence is a Brits fav.

And PinkPantheress I'd add in too. I could be wrong but she keeps being left out of discussions despite being a huge global name in 2025 and Fancy That even getting a Mercury nom.

I think Jade will get a Pop Act nod and probably Artist Of The Year too.

You’re right! I keep thinking of it as a mixtape when it’s essentially an album and passes the eligibility criteria.

Nominations announced next Wednesday at 5pm on Instagram live! (as confirmed in the main thread)

I think 3 noms are the maximum we are aiming for: Best British Act, Best British Album and Best Pop Act? Unless I’m missing another obvious one.

I'm really hoping she does get a fair few noms at least! I would LOVE another big Brits performance (Not sure they'll book her twice in a row though?)

I like to think she did so well last year they’d want her back in a heartbeat but yeah not sure how often acts perform two years in a row.

I doubt she’ll perform. She doesn’t have a new single to promote and she won’t do AOMD again.

The BRITs VERY rarely prioritise new songs anyway and in a year where she's had a critically acclaimed album, I think they'd want to try and get her fans watching for as much of the show as possible.

She's critically acclaimed yeah, but she had one hit single 1.5 years ago. She's hardly an A-Lister who has a massive fanbase that the Brits will be desperately trying to attract. The number of Jade stans who would tune in specifically to watch her perform is probably tiny.

(Saying this as someone who adores her)

I think thats part of the problem, Angel aside most of her songs are not that well known to the casuals, which is a shame as she released a great album and it should have more than 1 smash

But the BRITs are about celebrating big moments in music over the last 12 months. JADE has had a massive year. FUFN went top 40 and 'Plastic Box' was one of the most acclaimed songs of 2025. Her album was a big success (multiple weeks top 40 (didn't go 3-98-OUT or something like a lot of albums do), biggest first week sales for a debut album, critic smash etc...) and I can see the BRITs wanting to celebrate that and have her perform again. She was the 2nd most talked about performance of last year (behind Sabrina Carpenter) and got the BRITs some much needed engagement on socials etc.. so I think they will want her again because they know her fans will engage and bring some social media hype for them.

Honestly, I know we shouldn't *expect* another performance, but I definitely think one is happening more than it not happening, but maybe that's just me.

I mean, I’m a Jade stan and she did well last year but to the general public she’s just known for Angel of my Dreams which was a decent hit 18 months ago.

Her album sales were the result of a ton of signing events, variants and fans multi buying and FUFN was in the top 40 for one week and probably hasn’t even sold 100K.

I’m not trying to kill the vibe or anything but there’s a bit of excited fan hyperbole in these discussions. Ranking in some end of year charts and your album managing a few weeks top 100 is not a ‘massive year’ and there’d be a laundry list of people the Brits would want to attract an audience than Jade.

(and again before I get attacked, I’m saying this as someone who adores her and will acknowledge AOMD was a well deserved hit and her tour was a success but again, she’s still basically a one hit wonder to the public)

She HAS had a huge year though. She still had the biggest selling debut album of the year, a big sold out (world) tour, a universally praised Festival run, a critically raved about album + single (it's the BRITs... they eat the critical stuff up!). There are artists and acts who have had far less "successful" years (commercial success wise) that have been nominated and performed before in the past.

This isn't meant to come off as if I'm attacking btw, so I hope you know that! I'm just saying, commercial "chart" success matter so little with awards shows, especially nowadays/in the streaming era. Also, you could be right and she gets nothing out of this - I'm not saying she'll 100% be guaranteed anything, but I do believe that things are pointing more towards them happening rather than not going to happen.

The album has been all about trying to get the critics on board (in which she succeeded) and that's primarily what the BRITs like to award.
