February 10, 20251 yr I don't know if people aware but the Lover (Live From Paris) Vinyl of Taylor is shipped today (for me and a lot of other people so it's out) and arriving tomorrow, so it will be this week chart and not next as was planned. The "rumors" which are kind of true because you could have checked how many were in stock and there were above 30K, so that should be enough for this week number 1 in the Albums. I guess they shipped them this week instead of the next to avoid Drake new album (won't do amazing numbers but can do above 30K).

It would actually be quite something if she managed to pull off #1 with it :o (although I think realistically Lola is going to be unstoppable for the next few weeks, by which time the 'Abracadabra' hype might have started to fade)
February 11, 20251 yr Wasn't expecting to see Oklou in the chart at all! Will obvz be much lower on Friday but nice to see her showing up so high for today at least. Shame that it's looking like another big dropoff in chart position for Squid, I wonder how they amassed enough support to go top 5 with their debut but then only enough people showed up for the follow-up to go low top 40 and now the third album might struggle to even go top 100... I really don't think a PARTYNEXTDOOR collab album is going to bring the numbers for Drake in the UK (especially not right now). I'd guess closer to 15k than 30k. Think it'll be Manic Street Preachers at #1 next week.

February 11, 20251 yr I understand it to mean that people ask for donations to get the product created/made/released (basically asking for donations) and if the product gets off the ground the people who donated normally get a copy. I've seen it done with boardgames more than music But does it qualify for the charts? I mean, something that is based on donations?

The first recognised crowdfunded album was Marillion's 2001 album Anaraknophobia but that that was ineligible to chart due to free gifts given away with the album Most recently the Libertines album Anthems For Doomed Youth was crowdfunded via Pledgemusic and reached UK #3

The first recognised crowdfunded album was Marillion's 2001 album Anaraknophobia but that that was ineligible to chart due to free gifts given away with the album Most recently the Libertines album Anthems For Doomed Youth was crowdfunded via Pledgemusic and reached UK #3 thanks now I do remember that Marillion album, guess elegibility depends if there are free gifts

There's risks involved, you arent guaranteed anything to protect the websites that host crowdfunding, but it's basically a pre-order that gives the creator funds to make the item. In this case, you pre -ordered an album, it allowed Block 33 the opportunity to create the album.
