Alex Warren must have broken it with his respectable streaming numbers

For the first time since 2016 Ed had no songs in the year end top 100 last year. Perfect was in every year since its release, Shape Of You missed the one in 2020 but made every year's list up to 2022,

  • Fixed that for you 😄

Adele - "Hometown Glory"

Amazon - #49 (+171)

Apple Music - #53

Spotify - #82

I think that's the highest it's been on Amazon (combined) and Apple Music so far. Might climb into the top 30 in the official chart this week?

'The Giver' already falling behind even 'Good Luck, Babe!', oof x

And people are still saying she could eventually climb to #1. I don't think so!

It's not impossible just looking more and more unlikely, it's till months till her physicals , there's no official video yet

Nothing's impossible of course, but I just can't see it at this point. I feel like it's the sort of song that if it was going to be #1 it would have got there on debut.

Agreed , plus she was the only "big" release in a full period it does sound like big realises are finally on there way soon

It'll be safe for a while the next nearest is HTG and that's on ACR and 30 spots below anyway

I'm not even confident we'll get one after GLB!

Ah yeah now you mention it what she playing at 😅

what I still don't get is the physicals for The Giver being out end of August

I know it's cos of the US market and people say that's when the song is gonna peak on airplay

but really? cannot really see it...

also, they could ship the US physicals in August but the UK physicals NOW or on release week

We don't have a proper video for The Giver but

she has released a lyric video for the song, which features her in various professional roles in an infomercial-style format

so that's maybe enough?

sombr - 'back to friends' has made good progress today (up to #62)

Adele's 'Hometown Glory' also reaches a new peak of #68

I think 'The Giver' will stabilise soon and maybe rebound a little and have decent longevity but would take quite a turnaround for it to become a #1 contender - then again I suppose 'Ordinary' dropped in its second week then started climbing again and got to #1 a few weeks later so can't rule it out completely. (I think the physicals will be pretty irrelevant by the time they come out).

Would love if 'Hometown Glory' could make its way up to a new official peak - Mother's Day coming up could give it another boost given what I've heard the TikTok trend is about? x

Honestly I'd say it's just cause they don't have physicals produced yet. Physicals are a bit of a leak hotbed, and vinyl takes time to produce. If you order them on release week so you don't have to send the completed song til it's released, August is about the first time you could actually ship them

She performed the song live months ago so not sure a leak would have mattered!

You still don't want the full production to leak

Plenty of other artists manage to tie in physicals with release week so I'm not sure I'm buying that argument!
