CHART BATTLE REWIND

Chart battle #2 now and it's the battle of the producers - Timbaland and Mark Ronson. Both were at the top of their game in 2007 with Timbaland producing the previous year's huge sellers Loose and FutureSex/LoveSounds while Mark Ronson found acclaim through his work on Amy Winehouse's Back to Black. Timbaland teamed up with Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado for diss track Give It To Me, apparently aimed at Scott Storch, Fergie and Prince(!!), while Mark Ronson collaborated with the then-upcoming Daniel Merriweather for a reimagined version of The Smiths' Stop Me. Give It To Me won the chart battle, but neither seem particularly remembered these days. While Timbaland's commercial success in his own name is very much contained to 2007, Mark Ronson of course had the most enduring success with huge hits well into the next decade.

Me too @awardinary - Stop Me is probably my favourite MR song. Actually, GITM is also my favourite Timbaland song but that bar is a lot lower.
