Family matters has grown on me a LOT. It’s a breath of fresh air in the top 10 and nice to see something new beginning to take off so happy for it to hopefully progress further

I don't even think it's necessarily true that Hot Hits isn't impactful. Sure, we're a far cry from when it may have dictated the chart to a near 1:1 replica, but it can't all just be measured in terms

Its ridiculous that people are still obsessed with who gets added to HH when its been proven time and time again that HH means very little nowadays 🤣🤣

Nobody is obsessed. Stop with the passive-agressiveness.

Impact has been diminished but it still has an impact

It's definitely minimal on the whole, Mystical Magical ended up lower when it was #10 on HHUK than when it was around #30. Not to say it can't be a helping hand, and being on HHUK in the first place was definitely an opportunity for the song to stabilise.

It's now #6... if only it had this support from the start rather than a continued effort to push Sorry I'm Here for Someone Else (although that did go top 20 here in the end so maybe it was worth it x)

I don't even think it's necessarily true that Hot Hits isn't impactful. Sure, we're a far cry from when it may have dictated the chart to a near 1:1 replica, but it can't all just be measured in terms of an instant boost. If someone hears a song on the playlist and saves it, not only are they likely generating future plays long beyond that song's tenure on the playlist, but they're influencing the algorithm, pushing related songs in front of other related songs because they're listening to them instead of something else. I remember songs like "I Like Me Better" that were aggressively pushed on these playlists for months and months and by the time it was finally taken off, it didn't even collapse completely because that time was spent germinating the seeds of future streams. The 1.4 million people who listened to "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac on Spotify yesterday are largely not thinking about the skateboard TikTok, they might not even be aware of it. But a lot of those same people wouldn't be listening to the song if that TikTok didn't exist, it's the same principle.

But also it's intrinsically interesting in terms of label manoeuvres. It might not be the complete package, but it's still part of the pie chart of discovery sources, one of many egg-ready baskets.

It's great that "What Was That" got a boost with the release of Lorde's new song. Hoping it sticks around for ages and gets another nice boost when the album is released to make up for that dire #11 peak. snif

Happy to see "End of the World" re-entering on Apple - it's a little above "Easy Lover" on Apple's main playlist so hopefully the next update will see "Easy Lover" enter. Hoping to see the album do well on Amazon as well.

Edit: Apple updated and "Easy Lover" in at #121, "End of the World" up to #145.

Wonder if any of the original versions of taylors tracks appear within the next day or 2

So far only Love Story (#183) has reappeared in the Apple charts but she’s always been a better performer on Spotify.

Excited for tomorrows update.
