True - I still think it will be close though - especially if Dior keeps on climbing. Its overtaken Manchild on Apple for Instance and is closing the lead on Spotify.

I can see sabrina getting a second week by default this week with Dior potentially going number 1 next week

Better than all of those other songs though? It made 4 year end charts that I can see: Australia, Belgium (Wallonia), Canada & USA. In every single one of those lists, at least 3/9 of the other songs placed higher (7 of them in Australia). Everywhere you look it's the same chart run, high debut and then sputters out without really stabilising at any point. It couldn't hold in the top 50 for more than 13 weeks anywhere, even in Canada where it was a #1 hit. The main point is that a lot of the time even when it seems certain that songs don't have legs, it doesn't always pan out that way.

If the point doesn't fit his narrative "it dont work like that"

Impressive but maybe better suited to the US spotify streaming thread 🤷

The patterns of Ed's songs on Amazon are so weird

like Sapphire, first week, doing poorly all week stable at around 40, moving 40-37-42-37-etc all week

week 1 finishes, next update Sapphire mysteriously climbs 42-4... and has been stable top 5 since then

if you think that's ok, no point discussing

The fact he was only 37-42 in its first week is more unusual considering he was top 10 on Apple (and it took him all week to get this high here too) and top 20 on Spotify!

Most Days at #1 on UK Spotify

#1 Wham! - Last Christmas - 108 Days

#2 Drake feat. Wizkid & Kyla - One Dance - 101 Days

#3 Alex Warren - Ordinary - 88 Days

#4 Dave & Central Cee - Sprinter - 87 Days

#5 Tones and I - Dance Monkey - 81 Days

The continued use of the word "flop" against someone who is scoring Top 10 and Top 20 hits are tiring and annoying as well.

Slate Ed Sheeran because he's obsessed with the charts and making No.1, slate him when he's not.

Whilst not being the biggest fan, I have just tried to show that a song is not a flop just because it hasn't done quite as well the artists previous releases.

If that's annoying or tiring to read then sorry for my part in the debate.

(I haven't overly used emojis from what I can see though).

Maybe it's time to step back from this particular discussion and all agree to disagree.

Wow incredible. Hopefully it overtakes one dance. Plus this isn’t even combined with the fabulous wedding version

And I know i only used 😂😂😂 in 2 of my responses

The way i see it why if certain memeber are allowed to keep throwing flop at literally everything, why are other supposed to not be allowed to prove valid arguments that prove them wrong

Oh man why is there always some group meditation over a little discussion in a thread. I said free falling because it was and I think it is. I said flop because it is and I think it is. Get over it Jesus Christ. Just move on it’s not a big deal

Ordinary just dominates but it’s notable that Alex Warren’s album hasn’t spent more then 1 or 2 weeks in the album top 10 recently it’s usually between 20 and 11

It’s just the way the album chart works these days.

Ybf other than exceptional circumstances you tend to find artists are 1 or the other

She's a US country singer who's been building a nice fanbase - she's been touring non-stop since 2023 and done well with a few singles. Think it's more so due to interest in her new song + country music being bigger in the US (country music in the US is being represented a lot more accurately on streaming services the last few years or so).

Would be nice if she could have a hit in the UK!
