We are back at 4pm tomorrow! Quite an accumulation of bonuses to get through in the first couple of sessions, but we'll still cover 7 weeks of 1983 in each.

Chaka Khan, Depeche Mode, Siouxsie and Howard Jones were very close, although bit of a step down on last week overall.

Van Halen - Jump cheeseblock

Rufus And Chaka Khan - Ain't Nobody

Depeche Mode - People Are People

The Style Council - My Ever Changing Moods

Captain Sensible - Glad It's All Over / Damned On 45*

Sade - Your Love Is King

The Weather Girls - It's Raining Men

Dead or Alive - (Thats The Way) I Like It

(Arthur Baker), Afrika Bambaataa And The Soul Sonic Force - The Renegades Of Funk

Scritti Politti - Wood Beez (Pray Like Aretha Franklin)

Madonna - Lucky Star

Its cheesy but went for 'Jump' as my fave, the synth riff is too good and uplifting (I even like Bus Stop's version of it from 1999 lol). 'Ain't Nobody' is one of the best R&B songs of all time, Depeche might dislike 'People Are People' but I like it, good beats to it. 'My Ever Changing Moods' is a great song about a topic everyone can relate to and my parents are fans of the Style Council and have their greatest hits. 'Glad It Is All Over' is way better than Happy Talk for Captain Sensible, good anti war song and the melody of 'Glad Its All Over' reminds me of one of the first 80s synthpop hits, New Musik - Living By Numbers from 1980. Sade has a lovely song and Weather Girls are iconic. Dead or Alive have a quite possibly Blancmange influenced (vocally) cover of KC and Sunshine Band's disco classic 'Thats The Way I Like It'! Elsewhere, Afrika Bambaataa may be controversial now but I shall focus on Arthur Baker, the genius producer for Renegades of Funk, sounding a bit like early house music, and for 'Wood Beez', the singer of Scritti Politti sounds like Savage Garden's Darren Hayes 13 years ahead of time - interesting! The Madonna song has a good chorus but she has better 80s songs to come.
