Goombay Dance Band - Seven Tears

Oop sorry for being last minute again - I'm popping out in just a moment and might miss the start of today's session again so better do this first x

ABC - Poison Arrow

Bow Wow Wow - Go Wild In The Country

Japan - Ghosts

Pigbag - Papa's Got A Brand New Pigbag

Visage - The Damned Don't Cry

2 discoveries (Japan once again and Visage). Not too much else of note this week really, next best discovery was the track played from the David Bowie EP and next best I already knew (albeit some of them not that well) were Monsoon, The Associates, Haircut One Hundred and Classix Nouveaux.

Tie to be settled with the next poll!

That top 7 is fab, 'More Than This' is still quite good but its a bit basic :( ABC would have a better ballad of that style with 'All Of My Heart'.

'My Camera Never Lies' almost made my top 5, definitely one of the best official #1's of 1982.

Week 16 Tiebreak

Associates - Party Fears Two

Japan - Ghosts

My votes (this time the Associates and ABC songs just miss out for me):

Simple Minds - Promised You A Miracle

Yazoo - Only You

Depeche Mode - The Meaning Of Love

Madness - House Of Fun

New Order - Temptation

Tiebreak:

Associates - Party Fears Two

Also a note that we're continuing on 11 January as I'm out next Sunday.

Thought you would have chosen Bardo as well @Last Dreamer

Anyway, my top 5:

The Associates - Club Country

Simple Minds - Promised You A Miracle

Fun Boy Three - The Telephone Always Rings

Kim Wilde - View From A Bridge

Bardo - One Step Further

Associates and Fun Boy Three so quirky and unique. Simple Minds' best produced song here too with the riff in the chorus a bit like an EDM 'drop'. Bardo is a bit cheesy but just really good time pop and better than Bucks Fizz's winning entry the year before! The Kim Wilde track is really well produced too.

Tiebreak choice: Associates - Party Fears Two

Edited by TheSnake

Adam Ant - Goody Two Shoes

Duran Duran - Hungry Like The Wolf

Nicole - A Little Peace (I admittedly prefer the German-language version of this song but still have a soft spot for it anyway)

Patrice Rushen - Forget Me Nots

The songs from 1982 in Sunday's session will include two artists in this week's Top 40!

We could do with a few more votes before then...

ABC - The Look Of Love

Adam Ant - Goody Two Shoes

Duran Duran - Hungry Like The Wolf

Echo & The Bunnymen - The Back Of Love

Siouxsie And The Banshees - Fire Works

Japan for the tiebreak.

I shouldn't leave it so long to vote in these as I feel I've slightly forgotten some of the songs I playlisted already whoops but fairly sure I remember Echo and Siouxsie (and their respective Bunnymen and Banshees) being my top 2 discoveries of the week. Other good songs I already knew include David Bowie, Simple Minds, Yazoo, Patrice Rushen and Madness and other good discoveries include Depeche Mode, The Associates, Soft Cell, Toyah and Altered Images and probably others I'm forgetting to mention, was a good week. x

(in fairness iirc I was multitasking for most of the last session so not paying as much attention as usual)
