Not the most major highlights this week and all songs I already knew (A Flock Of Seagulls just missed out on points from me in their semi-final when the song was in BJSC but it makes the cut here, I perhaps did underrate it at the time but it was nowhere near qualifying so not much more I could have done for it xx) - best discoveries of the week were Pigbag, Dollar (need to remember this song exists!!), Donna Summer and Stevie Wonder, next best songs I already knew were Irene Cara and Steve Miller Band.

The Steve Miller Band - Abracadabra

The Gary Numan song is my favourite here! Great mix of synths and bass guitar! 'Don't Go' I have liked for a long time, it stands out at the time, the big drum sound would become generic and be impersonated for many mostly inferior 80s songs. Abracadabra one of the catchiest songs ever and have liked it for a long time! Cheri - Murphy's Law is wickedly fun and has a great bassline.

Inside Out is dreamy and has a great vocal! First discovered it in a remix. Shout out too to Hot Chocolate's best song, I like the Vangelis style production and accusatory 'You don't remember me do you?'. And Videotheque and The Clash's catchiest song too. Love Is On The Trigger is a good dance tune, and I also like Stevie Wonder's 'Do I Do' famous for the catchy sample in a 2001 Ja Rule hit 'Live It Up'. Japan doing a cover of a Smokie Robinson song is interesting because of the very different vocal style to the original.

Oops appears that I am finally being hit with the 'sign in to YouTube to prove you're not a bot' prompt on embedded videos... a few frantic Googles later it appears the only way around it if it doesn't randomly go away on its own is to use a VPN so I've quickly downloaded a free one and it does seem to work, might take a few seconds to load the videos as the free version of the VPN is quite limited but that'll do for now :') (hopefully this is just a temporary thing that goes away by tomorrow anyway x)
