It’s much lower than I was expecting I can only assume the haters influenced people not to buy it because most reviews say it’s album of the year. For example I listened to Tyler’s album yesterday and every track was skippable and that’s now #1 everywhere so the quality doesn’t matter it seems. But I don’t personally buy physicals so I don’t know how that whole jig works. It still should get over 20k maybe but we shall see

Surely this is bait

It’s not unusual to see over the top reactions in here but really… Alex won’t have become a diehard fanbase act overnight. His sales are pretty normal for someone releasing in 2025 and it isn’t the sort of album that will be defined by how it performs this week anyway.

IT WAS ME I STOOD OUTSIDE HMV PROTESTING THAT PEOPLE DO NOT BUY ALEX ALBUM 😁

As much as I’m not an Alex fan, I’d rather he got number 1 album instead of Tyler

I predicted this haha! I did say 2/3 weeks ago people are going to be shocked at his physical sales. I could sense it because he had really limited signed vinyls and they were still in stock.

That's very true, but still shocking. he's on 4K physicals, so how many vinyls? 1K-2K max?

Even last week Hard-Fi were on 4K vinyls of their 20 year re-issue of Stars of CCTV, we're talking Hard-Fi, not Oasis or Coldplay.

Really shows how big tiktok hits hardly ever translate into big physical sales, not even having the biggest song of the year

Lol what. You really just be making up any old stuff. The album has so few reviews it doesn't even feature on its Wiki page.

That’s all you can go on for the quality of an album.

Surely people could listen to it to judge themselves. Who honestly lets reviews have an impact on weather or not to listen to music. Its not like decades ago when the only way you can consume music is to buy it. That isn't the case anymore. Also you're in your own Alex echo chamber - as shown by the screenshots you posted of people liking and saying the album was good - basically feeding your hype.

Lets be honest Alex's sales are fine, nothing spectacular but decent enough. The only reasons its made such a big deal of in this thread is because of the absolute rubbish you've been spouting for weeks about him and the album. For any artist in this climate his sales are fine. The Warrensphere and your echo chamber thinking he'll do 50k or the insane streaming numbers is, and was laughable.

Also you mentioning Tyler's album being skippable. I doubt many people who like Ordinary are really going to be a fan or Tyler or his album.. lets be honest 🤣

Can't quite wrap my head around HUNTR/X now being the highest charting K-pop girl group...

I was shocked when the signed CD/ Vinyl were still in stock on his website the whole time up until this week. It said they were both very limited (Signed version and Non Signed) so the fact he didn't have the core fanbase to sell them out quickly made me expect this. It's actually picked up loads now it's high on the Physical chart on Amazon etc so I'm guessing he just doesn't have that large dedicated fanbase to buy into physicals. The same for Mimi Webb in her peak year or so she was getting hit after hit and appearing everywhere at shows yet her physicals were shocking and didn't reflect how well she was doing.

You really think 4k physicals are good for someone who has the biggest hit of the year and an album preceeded by 7 sorta hits?

Nope, I think the overall figure and potentially having the Number 1 album is ok in the current climate for an artist. Also 7 hits?

Is 4k a great physical figure nope. But then he's doing better than other artists (album wise). The figures may be underwhelming if you assumed he was going to sell sh!tloads. Which... erm some seemed to think he would.

I think thats the problem, 4k physicals is healthy in this day and age the problem is the people saying its terrible had unrealistic expectations in the first place 😅

RIP Ozzy, an absolute giant!😔

I don't know why but I was expecting both scissor sister and kaiser chiefs to be higher today, both are probably front loaded so might not even chart by the end of the week but hopefully they can top 100.

I expected the same!

Hard-Fi were #3 last Monday, so I expected both of those to be Top 20 at the very least! Surprised Hard-Fi sold more full stop (let alone so much more)

Just hope Alex Warren hang on number 1 still this week

Today's update will be telling if we get one but if he even number 1 today I dont see it being by much

Tyler the Creator seems to be less powerful with this new album than Chromakopia.

On Spotify, he's falling a lot faster :

CHROMAKOPIA

DAY 1

#1 (NEW) St. Chroma = 617,471 streams

#2 (+47) Noid = 516,366 streams

#3 (NEW) Rah Tah Tah = 492,250 streams

#6 (NEW) Darling, I = 464,279 streams

#9 (NEW) Hey Jane = 371,070 streams

DAY 2

#3 (-2) St. Chroma = 398,232 streams

#7 (-5) Noid = 342,540 streams

#9 (-3) Darling, I = 330,713 streams

#11 (-8) Rah Tah Tah = 305,980 streams

#16 (-5) Sticky = 244,039 streams

DON'T TAP THE GLASS

DAY 1

#4 (NEW) Big Poe = 333,015 streams

#6 (NEW) Sugar On My Tongue = 303,113 streams

#11 (NEW) Sucka Free = 272,798 streams

#13 (NEW) Ring Ring Ring = 252,932 streams

#15 (NEW) Mommanem = 242,986 streams

DAY 2

#23 (-17) Sugar On My Tongue = 182,346 streams

#26 (-22) Big Poe = 179,293 streams

#35 (-22) Ring Ring Ring = 156,468 streams

#36 (-25) Sucka Free = 156,268 streams

#59 (-43) Stop Playing With Me = 137,222 streams

I can't wait for the next midweeks but now I'm not sure he could do 25k like Chromakopia.

I don't see him having more pure sales this time (7,324 CDs, 2,419 vinyl, 170 downloads for Chromakopia) and, based on the 2nd day on all platforms, units from streaming should be smaller (15,166 units from streaming for Chromakopia). Ultimately, he may not be a threat for #1 this week...
