If a song is unavailable to stream, it would make sense for them to include it seeing as they’re targeting the physical market and people who can’t stream the song might buy that compilation if it appears on there if they’re looking for specific songs

I've noticed a few artists that aren't on streaming but are on the Yearbooks already. Tom Jones - A Boy From Nowhere is a highlighted track that I can't locate on Spotify. Kenny Everett - Snot Rap too! The other artist I noticed is Animal Nightlife. It makes me appreciate these particular volumes even more.

It appeared on Cheggar's Choice a long time ago but that tracklist is one to forget, although features many songs hard to license now (and many nobody would want to for obvious reasons).

I wanted to listen to Yearbook Extra '99 today but Amazon can't deliver until tomorrow, even when I checked at midnight, bah. Will see if I have time to go to HMV.

I'm half tempted to get that Chegger's Choice album, some really novelty tracks that you can't find on streaming or the Yearbooks! 😂

One I actually picked up the other day very cheap was this Stars of Soap album, which contains several songs that didn't make it to streaming or Now Yearbooks:

It's a vinyl rip on this album as you can hear slight crackling at the end of the song. Same with Anita Dobson.

Shame they didn’t include the full version on 12" 1987 part 1. I hope it appears on part 2

If it overall sounding fine, I can live with that. There seem to be no other compilation where it is featured on. This would be a great opportunity for NOW to sign it for yearbook 90-94 as the original master was so far not available on CD.

I would say it is noticeable, but ok. I initially thought it was a small CD skip a couple of times. But it's for sure the only place it is available as a digital file on an official CD.

Atmopshere by Russ Abbot has yet to ever appear on CD.

Got the 99 extra from HMV this morning. Haven’t listened to all of it yet but I did check that Radio is indeed the Unplugged version which is a relief.

Once again used Chalkys and it's turned up today! £10.48 for 99 Extra which was a great price.

Just managed to get mine in HMV, who were only stocking one copy… or at least only had one left. They did also appear to be playing it though as that PSB song was on in there.

Well I hope we won't get delayed on Yearbook 1971, when it comes to the order in three weeks' time.

Why not just buy it from somewhere else? It still counts towards the chart if pre-ordered from another store and they're usually more reliable than NOW are directly!

I bought my Now 124 from Asda which I always do so I can use my money off vouchers for it and Now 124 has topped the compilation chart. I doubt extra 1999 will get there next week

It's actually the indie surprises on Extra that I'm loving on first listen. Genuinely don't think I've heard Turn by Travis and She's in Fashion by Suede since they were released and they were great to hear again. Currently at Let Forever Be on Disc 2 which is one of my faves from the year overall.

It feels like they put far more effort into the Extra than the main release for '99, with all the wrong versions that had.

This is well worth the money, almost all the correct edits and mixes that were hits at the time. Must admit, that is not the version of the Blondie song I remember, but looks like that was the lead mix on the cassette single?

So many songs I haven't heard for such a long time and remember so fondly. And it's just wonderful to see the likes of Say It Again, In Our Lifetime and Back In My Life on a Now release and Friends Forever for the first time. The Charlotte/A*Teens sequence <3 I had to start with Disc 3 as these are some of my favourite ever songs, but I will go through the other two properly at the weekend.

One change I would make is probably open Disc 1 with Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!! or save it for a prominent place on Final Chapter, it was way bigger than any other song on here and feels marooned halfway through disc three but maybe they wanted to stick the three ABBA rip-offs all next to each other.

I was re-listening to NOW 106 the other day, and it shows just how quick music moves over time. I was amazed by how dated some of the songs sounded despite only being 6 years ago. It was truly amazing.

I do wonder if that could be as it was a very 'trendy' album if that makes sense.
