I think it's fair to say Olivia is this year's RAYE!

Although Escapism. didn't make RAYE's past catalogue take huge climbs (from what I can remember).

Olivia is making huge gains with most of her past releases - it seems to be a massive blow-up

I feel like British female artists often face the sophomore slump so it's refreshing to see Olivia blowing up with her impending second record instead.

Thats weird, she had a 100K increase out of the blue in the middle of the week, that never happens... went from 415K yesterday to 520K today

Can we all just enjoy the spontaneity?

It wasn't necessarily an exact comparison, I just mean in the way that she seems to be blowing up organically despite not being a newcomer to the music scene - and her sound isn't a million miles away from RAYE's either. I can see her getting a few BRIT awards next year too!

Given every other Olivia Dean song is climbing massively as well - on both Apple and Spotify, I'd say its just she's got popular - rather than the old excuse of autoplay when a song(s) become popular

The autoplay factoring in whilst she's gaining popularity at the same time is what could be causing it to have a bigger effect than what we're used to seeing with just autoplay.

It's not a knock on her popularity. It's just a notice in trending patterns and a likely reason for it. It's clearly a song that's been building for a couple of weeks and is gaining hype more and more so the label striking whilst the momentum is there is absolutely the right move.

(I ofc don't know if it IS autoplay (mine is switched off) but it's an observation that it could be just due to the rise in numbers)

Very impressive numbers from Olivia. Remember that it will take huge numbers to get past “Golden” officially though and she isn’t there yet.

To be fair, Raye didn’t even have an album out pre-Escapism and none of back catalogue sounds anything like Escapism or anything she released, to the point where she barely even perform anything anymore. It’s only been "Natalie Don’t" (a deep cut) and her jazz rearrangements of her dance features.

Man I Need #1 on Spotify. Looks like Olivia could dethrone Hunr/x next week if Sabrina doesn’t manage to

Happy for Olivia Dean, it felt like she was slogging away for years getting not very far commercially (apart from that Amazon-assisted Christmas hit) and now suddenly she's finally breaking through in a big way. Good news for British music too after such a dry year last year, it does feel slightly more positive this year.

Man I Need is definitely my favourite from her so far, I'd thought Golden would reign for quite a few weeks so it's good to see it have a challenger already potentially.

The Subway really deserves such daily numbers too imo.
