The delegates of Fljótavík wish to welcome the 52 visiting nations to Mílanó for the unveiling of the acts taking part in the one hundred and seventy seventh Buzzjack Song Contest.

As always the entrants have been split into two semi finals and you can view the lists of entrants in the thread below. You must vote only in the semi final you are allocated to, you do this by sending a PM to myself with your 10 favourite songs from your semi in the traditional Eurovision format of:

The deadline for submitting your votes is 23:59 on Saturday 6th September. Any votes received after this point will only be accepted at my discretion and a penalty of 15% will be applied. If you fail to vote in your semi final then your entry will receive a 33% deduction to its final tally.

The twenty countries with the highest scores from each semi final will progress to the final.

As hosts, Fljótavík will be required to vote in both semi finals so that we may take advantage of the opportunity to allow Joon Gloom to gracefully glide directly through to the final with her dark electropop entry, Joker.

Back in the electronic bloc myself too x The music video is just labelled 'DNA' but the song is separated into two on streaming platforms, 'DNA INTERLUDE' and 'DNA', wanted to keep both together as I discovered this entry pieced together in the music video, so that's why it's labelled that way here.

Another strong contest for other nation's entries I've already charted: Fljótavík, Ajanaeda (again), Mothertopia, Neliönoir - all either the AQ or in the other semi though. At least 2 or 3 of those could be put in the "winner contender" bracket too!

Kath did send it too at first, it was one of the few double confirmations. It caught me off guard a bit as I wasn’t anticipating anyone else to have particularly heard of her until Brer did the research and said it showed up in a couple of personal charts

Yeah 'Joker' made my chart, as did her earlier song 'Jinx!' which had been in my thinking for BJSC but never quite made it to the top of my potentials pile.

Hoping I can count on dandy's fans for points for Dan Deacon with another wonderfully weird piece with an equally weird music video!

Ooh opening the semi Looks like I'm in the poppier semi so a good test of me sending a poppier entry 👀 There is actually another version of my song that has a completely different more lo-fi instrumental that sounds more typical of a Persephonia entry but I'm sticking to the poppy version as I feel the vocals suit it better, plus it has a music video with iconic choreo x Also fun fact: Maustetytöt literally translates from Finnish as 'Spice Girls'

Glad to see Skall sticking with 'Double Caper' this time after previously confirming it but switching, that Bubble Love album was a lot of fun and this was one of the best tracks on it. I think the only other songs I've heard are a couple that were previously in PJSC as per usual. Neat to see Water From Your Eyes making an appearance though as I've considered sending them in the past, and I suppose I should be happy at finally getting my wish of Nuovo Testamento appearing in a main contest even if it didn't happen until after they came 2nd in two other contests on the site making this one of the more uninspired choices of the month in the end so we'll see if they're fast tracking themselves to shadowban territory xx

I thought I was heading for another veto after making a flop thread and my PFSC entry — but I couldn't resist. The build on 'storm' is transcendent, and the entire song is just so Cocteau Twins coded. Not sure how each single from this album is better than the last

Very interested to see what a Lord Of The Lost and Within Temptation duet sounds like - the latter have been pretty conspicuously good at avoiding the contest, for such a wide-appealing rock/goth metal band with such a long career quite amazing that this is their first entry since the early days (and neither of the two before did particularly well, criminal of course).

feels like something from The Unforgiving should have been entered way back when though that never happened though now I say that I remember A Demon's Fate making its way to one of the spinoffs

I don't know what would be a good semi for my song but I think that's the slightly rockier semi so I'll take that; Ecca Vandal was a huge blast from the past ('Father Hu$$la' an amazing underappreciated entry from back in the day) when I was at Reading last weekend and this sounded great.
